32. New England Patriots
Key Players at this Position: Kendrick Bourne, DeMario Douglas, KJ Osborn
To put it gently, the receiving corps for the New England Patriots is bleak at best. Kendrick Bourne is a respectable NFL wide receiver, but the rest of this group leaves a ton to be desired. They are not likely to do any favors for what is a dismal quarterback room, which is headlined by Jacoby Brissett and rookie Drake Maye, in what should be another long year on offense for the Patriots.
31. Denver Broncos
Key Players at this Position: Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick, Josh Reynolds, Marvin Mims
The Denver Broncos have been disappointing at the wide receiver position for years, with Jerry Jeudy never quite living up to the hype set for him after his time at Alabama. Jeudy is gone now, but the Broncos didn’t do anything of note to materially improve their wide receiver group in his absence. The end result is likely to be another year where the receivers for Denver are not above replacement level.
30. Los Angeles Chargers
Key Players at this Position: Joshua Palmer, Ladd McConkey, DJ Chark
If Justin Herbert wants to be thought of as a top-tier quarterback in the NFL once again, he is going to need to get a lot out of his wide receivers. Keenan Allen and Mike Williams are out for Los Angeles’ AFC team, while they brought in Ladd McConkey out of Georgia in the draft, along with DJ Chark. That would be considered a step backward, though the extent to which the Chargers suffer from it remains to be seen.
29. New York Giants
Key Players at this Position: Malik Nabers, Wan’Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton
Malik Nabers was drafted in the first round by the New York Giants in the most recent draft. He is easily the number-one receiver on this team right away, as the rest of the receivers on this roster are well below average. Darius Slayton’s continued injury concerns could further shrink the impact of this receiving corps, but there isn’t a ton to like outside of Nabers even if he stays healthy, especially with a bad quarterback in Daniel Jones throwing to them.
28. Pittsburgh Steelers
Key Players at this Position: George Pickens, Van Jefferson
There is some talent in this Steelers receiving group. The problem is that there is just not enough depth. George Pickens is a very good deep ball receiver, which should work well now that Russell Wilson is there to air it out to him. But outside of him and Van Jefferson, there aren’t a ton of consistent targets for this team to rely on at this position. Instead, we should see Jaylen Warren act as a better pass catcher out of the backfield than many of the receivers on this team.
27. Arizona Cardinals
Key Players at this Position: Marvin Harrison Jr., Zay Jones
Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to be one of the most dangerous receivers in the NFL in his career. But outside of “Maserati Marv” this team is one of the worst in the NFL at the wide receiver position. Early this season, we expect Harrison to need some time to get on the same page with quarterback Kyler Murray, but things should get better as the season goes on.
26. Carolina Panthers
Key Players at this Position: Diontae Johnson, Adam Thielen, Xavier Legette
In all honesty, the receiving corps for the Carolina Panthers isn’t bad. But you could trot out the best wide receivers in the world and they could struggle with Bryce Young as their quarterback. As it stands, we are intrigued by the addition of Diontae Johnson to this group, even if Adam Thielen was not as advertised in his first season with the Panthers last year.
25. New Orleans Saints
Key Players at this Position: Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed
Chris Olave finished in the top-20 in receiving yards in the NFL last season, racking up 1,123 receiving yards in his first year with Derek Carr as his quarterback. He and Rashid Shaheed are dangerous receivers, but the Saints certainly lack depth around those two that you would need to make the receiving corps for this team one of the better ensembles in the league.
24. Jacksonville Jaguars
Key Players at this Position: Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis, Devin Duvernay, Brian Thomas Jr.
It has been an interesting offseason for the Jacksonville Jaguars at the wide receiver position. They lost Calvin Ridley and brought in Gabe Davis to replace him. But the question for Jacksonville going into this year is whether or not that change is a good thing. Davis was explosive for Josh Allen and the Bills, but Ridley was very good with the Jaguars. That could make those moves a wash, or worse, which isn’t great for the Jags heading into 2024.
23. Indianapolis Colts
Key Players at this Position: Michael Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce, Josh Downs
In this portion of our NFL wide receiver rankings, depth is a huge limiting factor for teams. That is the case with the Indianapolis Colts as well, as they have one quality option at the top of their depth chart with some less appealing depth pieces elsewhere. Michael Pittman Jr. was in the top-15 in the NFL in receiving yards, but things devolve in a hurry at this position for Indianapolis, which puts them in the bottom-10 in our rankings.
22. Buffalo Bills
Key Players at this Position: Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins
Last year, the Buffalo Bills had one of the best receiving corps in all of football, with Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis as key components of their offense. This year, the Bills are set to look a lot different at wide receiver, and not in a good way. Diggs and Davis are gone, leaving Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel as their top targets at this position. That could be problematic in a season where Josh Allen needs to be more precise and commit fewer turnovers for the Bills to be true title contenders.
21. New York Jets
Key Players at this Position: Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams, Allen Lazard
There is no denying that Garrett Wilson is an absolute stud at wide receiver for the New York Jets. But the questions for this team at wide receiver persist everywhere else. Mike Williams is expected to be a second option for the Jets, but he is coming back from a knee injury and how good he will be off the bat will be a question. On top of that, there isn’t a lot to like from spots three on with this receiving corps, even if Aaron Rodgers is the one throwing to them.
20. Washington Commanders
Key Players at this Position: Terry McLaurin, Jamison Crowder, Olamide Zaccheaus, Martavis Bryant
Coming in at number 20 in our NFL wide receiver rankings is the Washington Commanders. They are led by Terry McLaurin, who has been a rock-solid contributor to this team for many years now. While we aren’t quite sure what we are going to get from players like Jamison Crowder and Martavis Bryant, there is enough here to intrigue us to put them at 20th in this position group.
19. Las Vegas Raiders
Key Players at this Position: Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers
The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the best individual receivers in football in Davante Adams. There are a couple of problems that are preventing this team from being ranked higher here, though. First is quarterback play, which has made it significantly harder for Adams to get the ball and make the kinds of plays we have come to expect from him. Then there is the lack of quality receiving options around Adams and Jakobi Meyers, which could hold this team back from reaching its potential.
18. Baltimore Ravens
Key Players at this Position: Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman
One of the biggest challenges for wide receivers in the Baltimore Ravens system is having to scramble drill to get open when Lamar Jackson is extending plays with his legs. But this group has done a nice job of that, while Zay Flowers looked very good in his first season as a pro last year, developing a nice rapport with Jackson right away.
17. Green Bay Packers
Key Players at this Position: Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed
There isn’t a single spectacular name on the list of wide receivers for the Green Bay Packers. But they have developed a nice, consistent group of pass catchers for Jordan Love to air it out to. Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs have emerged as the top-two options on this team in the passing game, but this group has been greater than the sum of its parts.
16. Kansas City Chiefs
Key Players at this Position: Rashee Rice, Marquise Brown, Xavier Worthy
Last year, the offense of the Kansas City Chiefs prioritized throwing the football to tight end Travis Kelce. Some of that had to do with some embarrassing mistakes from wide receivers like Kadarius Toney and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. But this year’s Chiefs receiving corps should be average to above average, with Rashee Rice being joined by the newly-acquired Marquise Brown.
15. Atlanta Falcons
Key Players at this Position: Drake London, Darnell Mooney, Ray-Ray McCloud
We finally have a chance to see if the Atlanta Falcons have good wide receivers this year. With Kirk Cousins at quarterback instead of the horrible options this team has had in years past, options like Drake London and Darnell Mooney will have no excuses and will need to perform for this team to contend for a playoff berth. For now, we have the Falcons at 15th in our NFL wide receiver rankings.
14. Dallas Cowboys
Key Players at this Position: CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, Jalen Tolbert
There is a short list to go over when discussing the best wide receivers in the NFL and CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys is certainly on that list. Lamb was second to Tyreek Hill in receiving yards last year, with 1,749 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns in 2023. But the Cowboys have a rough group around Lamb, with Brandin Cooks being past his prime and not a ton of other options to like in Dallas going into the year.
13. Cleveland Browns
Key Players at this Position: Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, Elijah Moore
Amari Cooper missed two games for the Browns last season but still managed to finish 10th in receiving yards in the NFL. He and Elijah Moore will be joined this year by Jerry Jeudy, who will no longer have to deal with the pressure of being a number-one option like he was for the dreadful offense in Denver for years. As long as Deshaun Watson isn’t a total embarrassment, this group should produce in a big way.
12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Key Players at this Position: Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Sterling Shepard, Jalen McMillan
Mike Evans has long been one of the most consistent wide receivers in the NFL, whether his starting quarterback has been Tom Brady, Jameis Winston, or anyone else. That should remain the case again this year, as Evans, Godwin, and the rest of the Buccaneers receiving core should continue to be good for a Tampa Bay team that has playoff aspirations once again in 2024.
11. Tennessee Titans
Key Players at this Position: DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd, Treylon Burks
Tennessee should be given a lot of credit for the investments they made in the wide receiver position in the offseason. They have a young quarterback in Will Levis and added to their receiver room with Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, who should go well alongside Nuk Hopkins and Treylon Burks. That leaves Levis with little excuse as he looks to take a nice leap in his sophomore season as pro.
10. Detroit Lions
Key Players at this Position: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Kalif Raymond, Donovan Peoples-Jones
One of the things the Detroit Lions do so well is spread the ball around with their passing game, making it tough for opposing defenses to take everything away. A big reason for that is their receiving corps, which now features several high-quality options to choose from. While Amon-Ra St. Brown is clearly the top option in this group, Williams, Raymond, and Peoples-Jones will also make their share of impact plays in Detroit.
9. Seattle Seahawks
Key Players at this Position: DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Coming in at ninth in this year’s NFL wide receiver rankings are the Seattle Seahawks. Their big three of DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba can stand up with any receiving trio in the NFL when they are at their best. And while there are questions as to whether or not Geno Smith can deliver them quality balls consistently enough for Seattle to have success, there is a ton to like at this position in Seattle.
8. Los Angeles Rams
Key Players at this Position: Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp
Puka Nacua took the NFL by storm last season, finishing fourth in receiving yards and catching 105 passes for the LA Rams. Nacua and Cooper Kupp will once again be one of the most feared receiving duos in the NFL. But any regression from Nacua in his second season as a pro could make it a lot tougher for the Rams to be a playoff team in the NFC.
7. Minnesota Vikings
Key Players at this Position: Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison
Another contender to be the best individual wide receiver in the NFL resides in Minnesota, as Justin Jefferson has been nothing short of incredible during his time in Minneapolis. The Vikings don’t have a long list of quality receivers, as Jefferson and Jordan Addison make up the bulk of their threats at this position. But that isn’t nearly as big a concern as who will be throwing to them, as it looks like we are in for a lot of Sam Darnold in Minnesota this season at quarterback.
6. Cincinnati Bengals
Key Players at this Position: Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins
We are high on Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins as a duo going into the 2024 NFL season. Joe Burrow is back healthy for the Bengals to start this season, which should mean fewer issues getting that pair the ball on a consistent basis. Combine that with Higgins not being in danger of leaving the Bengals just yet in 2024 and the receivers for the Bengals should once again be a major threat on a regular basis.
5. San Francisco 49ers
Key Players at this Position: Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings
Now, we don’t know what the situation is surrounding Brandon Aiyuk this season, as there are rumors that he doesn’t want to remain in San Francisco and there are potential trades that could take place for him. But as currently constructed at the time of this writing, the duo of Deebo Samuel and Aiyuk is one of the most dangerous in the league, to the point that they have helped Brock Purdy contend for NFL MVP despite his reputation as a game manager.
4. Philadelphia Eagles
Key Players at this Position: AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Jahan Dotson
In recent years, the duo of AJ Brown and Devonta Smith has been excellent for the Philadelphia Eagles. That should be the case again this year, only the Eagles could be even better at wide receiver thanks to the addition of Jahan Dotson. Dotson has been a nice piece for the Commanders recently and adding him to an already outstanding pair of receivers in Brown and Smith should be good news for an Eagles team trying to remain a playoff team.
3. Houston Texans
Key Players at this Position: Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins, Tank Dell, Robert Woods
One of the deepest wide receiver rooms in the NFL belongs to the Houston Texans. Adding Stefon Diggs to go along with a group that already had a ton of success catching passes from CJ Stroud last season is huge. With John Metchie potentially struggling to see the field on a consistent basis here, you know you have a good group of receivers in Houston in 2024.
2. Chicago Bears
Key Players at this Position: DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze
The Chicago Bears have committed to putting solid receivers around first overall pick Caleb Williams going into the 2024 season. They already had DJ Moore from their attempts to turn Justin Fields into a franchise quarterback. And in adding Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze into the mix, they are giving Williams every chance to succeed in terms of the weaponry around him.
1. Miami Dolphins
Key Players at this Position: Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Odell Beckham Jr.
It isn’t likely that the Miami Dolphins will get a ton out of Odell Beckham Jr. this year. But they won’t need it thanks to the pairing of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Hill was the top receiver in the NFL last season in receiving yards. As long as Hill and Waddle stay healthy, they will remain the top group in our NFL wide receiver rankings for the foreseeable future.
