Leg #1: Buccaneers -3
The first pick in our Commanders vs Buccaneers Same Game Parlay is for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to cover the spread as a three-point favorite in this game. Both of these teams have had stellar seasons to get to the playoffs, but our NFL model likes the Bucs in this game based on the recent both of work of both of these teams. Specifically, we are unimpressed by the five-game winning streak that Washington is riding into the playoffs.
In the five games that the Commanders played leading up to the postseason, four of those games came against opponents who did not have their original starting quarterback on the field for that game. This week, not only are the Commanders facing a starting quarterback, they are facing an elite offense. Tampa Bay is one of just four teams to have scored 500 points on offense this season and they should have another big game to advance here.
Leg #2: Baker Mayfield 250+ Passing Yards
Along similar lines, we will take Baker Mayfield to reach 250 passing yards in this game for the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay’s signal-caller piled up 4,500 passing yards during the regular season, averaging exactly 250 passing yards per game. He hit this number in four of his final five regular season games this year and we expect him to do it again in a game where the Bucs will use their strength on the offensive side of the ball rather than relying too heavily on their running game.
Leg #3: Mike Evans 70+ Receiving Yards
Finally, we will take Mike Evans to reach 70 receiving yards as the last leg of our Commanders vs Buccaneers Same Game Parlay. Evans reached 1,000 receiving yards for the 11th straight season by doing just enough against the New Orleans Saints in Week 18 of the regular season. He should do enough in this game to reach this number as well, especially against a Commanders team he scored two touchdowns against in Week 1 of this year.
There is another reason we like Evans to hit this receiving yardage target and that is the motivation of facing off with Marshon Lattimore again. Lattimore was once a cornerback for the New Orleans Saints, who got into heated confrontations with Evans during their time as NFC South rivals. Look for Evans to use that matchup as fuel to have another big game here in the playoffs.
