The Kings did not do much in the offseason, which shows that they have faith in their current nucleus to continue improving coming into this year. Keeping Harrison Barnes around is a good decision, as the Kings need some veterans to surround the young players that are incredibly dangerous on this team. Meanwhile, the addition of JaVale McGee could help this team from a rebounding perspective, after they were torched on the glass by the Warriors in the playoffs a season ago.
Positives & Negatives
On the positive side for the Kings, their offense is set to be absolutely lethal again in the 2023-24 season. De’Aaron Fox has evolved into one of the great crunch time scorers in the NBA today, while there are a ton of weapons around him to make plays.
But there are still concerns about whether or not Domantas Sabonis can perform under the bright lights of the postseason, when play gets more physical and teams that are better at rebounding are in the way of the Kings. That could be a huge negative for the Kings late in the season, though things should go well for them relative to the recent history of the Kings in any case.
