The Oklahoma City Thunder will visit the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night in the NBA. The Thunder enter this matchup with one of the best records in the NBA and flying high offensively with league-leading scoring and efficiency, while the Bulls have struggled to string together consistent success and sit with a sub-.500 record. Here, I break down this Thunder vs Bulls matchup and make my pick in the betting markets.

Key Storylines
- The Thunder own one of the NBA’s best overall records and are led by a potential MVP-caliber season from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who tops his team in scoring by a wide margin. Oklahoma City’s offense ranks near the top of league scoring metrics, and they enter this game riding strong recent form. But SGA is out for this game, making things tougher on the Thunder than usual.
- Chicago has battled inconsistency this season with a losing record and a series of close losses. The Bulls have shown fight on occasion, snapping a long losing streak in their last game, and looking for a second straight win here.
- Chicago’s youth movement centers around Josh Giddey, who has been a triple-double threat and a pivotal contributor, yet the Bulls’ roster depth and consistency on both ends have lagged behind a Thunder team firing on all cylinders.
Key Players
Chicago Bulls
- Josh Giddey: The primary facilitator and a key scorer, Giddey averages around 17.8 points, 8.2 assists, and 8.4 rebounds per game this season and is the engine of Chicago’s offense. His ability to impact multiple stat lines makes him essential for the Bulls to stay competitive.
- Matas Buzelis: A young forward providing scoring and athleticism, Buzelis contributes roughly 15 points and 5 rebounds per game, giving Chicago a secondary option around Giddey.
- Anfernee Simons: When healthy, Simons can provide instant offense off the bench or in the starting lineup, averaging around 17 points per game across limited appearances and spacing the floor with his shooting.
Oklahoma City Thunder
- Chet Holmgren: A versatile big man who scores efficiently around the basket, rebounding at a strong clip and blocking shots, Holmgren anchors the Thunder’s interior presence with meaningful two-way contributions. He is so valuable with Jalen Williams and SGA out of action.
- Lu Dort: Dort is one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA. He will likely draw the assignment of facing Giddey throughout this game and Dort's defense will once again be of vital importance to his team here.

Final Thoughts
This matchup shapes up as a clear advantage for the Thunder, who combine superior scoring, defensive metrics, and sustained recent success going into Chicago. But I'm going to take the points with the Bulls at home here, as the Thunder could suffer on the road without the duo of J-Dub and SGA, who are both so important to the offensive identity of Oklahoma City.
