The New York Knicks are set to face the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night in the NBA. New York enters this matchup as clear favorites and looking for a second consecutive win. Sacramento has struggled throughout the season and finds itself near the bottom of the standings in the Western Conference. Before tip-off from Sacramento, keep reading to get my analysis for this game, including my Knicks vs Kings prediction.
Pick: | Knicks -10.5 ATS PRO |
Confidence: | 3/5 |
The Knicks have clawed their way to a strong record this season, largely driven by elite scoring from Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns. New York comes into Sacramento with most of its roster available, as Mitchell Robinson and Guerschon Yabusele were absent from the latest injury report and expected to play, while Landry Shamet remains the lone significant injury for the road team.
Sacramento has struggled to find consistency and they are also dealing with some major injuries. Keegan Murray is sidelined with an ankle injury and out for multiple weeks, weakening their already thin rotation and offensive output. Domantas Sabonis is also out, hurting the ability of the Kings to score at the rim and rebound the basketball. Sacramento has also endured a rocky stretch, dropping three of its last five games and posting a poor record both straight up and against the spread throughout the season.
For Sacramento, DeMar DeRozan has been a standout in recent games, scoring 32 points in a win over the Lakers with help from Malik Monk and Russell Westbrook. However, the Kings’ overall offensive struggles and defensive issues have kept them near the bottom of the league, creating a challenging environment to overcome a double-digit road favorite in this matchup.
Score Projection: Knicks 118 – Kings 104 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Knicks 76%, Kings 24% ATS PRO
This game appears to lean heavily toward the Knicks, who bring superior offensive metrics and a healthier roster into Sacramento. The Kings’ defensive deficiencies and significant injuries will make it difficult for them to keep pace, especially against a New York team capable of scoring in bunches. Expect the Knicks to handle business on the road and cover the double-digit spread, as I'll lay the points with the visitors on Wednesday night.
