Minnesota Timberwolves Betting Preview
The Minnesota Timberwolves were one of the most enigmatic teams in the NBA last season. They were expected to be great after adding Rudy Gobert to their team last offseason, but they ended up being a play-in team that lost in the first round of the playoffs. This year, the Wolves will hope that a full year together as a group will make them better, allowing them to be more of a threat in the Western Conference.

Minnesota Timberwolves Picks, Predictions & Betting News
Offseason Transactions
Key Additions: Shake Milton
Key Departures: Taurean Prince
The offseason for the Minnesota Timberwolves was quiet, thanks in large part to their moves made at the trade deadline last season and in the past offseason. Minnesota kept all of their key pieces around, including Gobert, despite some late-season tensions between Gobert and the rest of the roster. Minnesota is clearly hoping that time will heal those wounds, and that they can get back on track without any further disruptions.
Positives & Negatives
The biggest positive for the Timberwolves coming into this season is the anticipated development of Anthony Edwards. Edwards continues to make strides as an elite-level scorer in the NBA, and his time as the top star for the US in this summer’s FIBA World Cup will only help him.
But it feels like there is a ceiling over this team as currently constructed. Karl-Anthony Towns has not proven that he can make plays when the lights shine the brightest in this league just yet, while opposing offenses have largely figured out how to target Rudy Gobert. While this will not be a bad team, there are some clear limitations here.
2023-24 Minnesota Timberwolves Win Total Prediction: Over 44.5 Wins
While there are some issues with the Timberwolves roster going into the 2023-24 NBA season, they should still be a good team this year. If Towns can stay on the floor, and the Wolves can figure out how best to make things work with Gobert, this team could challenge for a top-five seed in the West this season. We will take the over on their season win total and hope that they can take a collective step forward.
