Key Storylines
- Availability watch for Milwaukee. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been listed as out recently with a right calf issue and has no firm timetable to return. That shifts on-ball creation toward Milwaukee's guards and wings, while shrinking Milwaukee’s margins on the glass and at the rim.
- Orlando’s backcourt lift. Jalen Suggs returned from a knee injury and delivered 15-11-11 with high-impact defense in a 118-98 win over Brooklyn on Thursday, adding a disruptive on-ball defender to a group headlined by Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner.
- Home comfort for the Magic. Orlando is 16-8 at home, while Milwaukee is 9-17 away. That split aligns with the betting odds showing the Magic as heavy favorites.
- Scheduling quirk. This is the first leg of a two-game mini set in Orlando, with a rematch scheduled on Wednesday. Coaches can get creative with their rotations in these two-game sets, as they try to avoid being predictable against the same opponent more than once.

Final Thoughts
Orlando’s home form, the absence of Milwaukee’s centerpiece, and a recent infusion of two-way guard play from Suggs point to a clean path for the Magic to control this game. Even with Milwaukee’s improved role-player output this week, their road splits are hard to ignore, and their half-court scoring dips without their primary weapon. Expect Orlando to lean on Banchero and Suggs and for the Magic to roll at home in the first game of the season between these teams.
