Kings vs Pelicans Player Prop #1: CJ McCollum Under 3.5 Threes (+120)
Our first prop pick for this winner take all game in the Western Conference is for CJ McCollum to fail to make four or more three-point shots. McCollum has been great from beyond the arc against the Kings so far this season. But there are a couple of reasons we could see that change tonight, in the biggest game of the year for McCollum and the Pelicans.
First, Zion Williamson is out for the Pelicans due to injury. That should make it easier for the Kings to stay with their defensive assignments, as they do not need to build a wall around the paint to prevent Williamson from driving to the basket at will. Combine that with McCollum shooting just 1/9 from three-point range in the first round of the play-in tournament against the Lakers and we could see further struggles from the Pelicans guard.
Kings vs Pelicans Player Prop #2: Trey Lyles Over 6.5 Points (-102)
Second on our list of Kings vs Pelicans props is for Trey Lyles to go over his points total, which is set at 6.5 points. Lyles is a key piece for the Kings, even if the casual basketball fan does not normally see his contributions to his team. He is especially valuable with Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter out, as his perimeter shooting is now a must for this team to have success.
Lyles scored seven points against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, despite making just one of his three attempts from three-point range. Here, we expect him to make a couple of threes and to get to seven or more points once again, cashing the over on this prop bet.
