Key Storylines
- Recent form: Detroit has won 4 of its past 5 and just set a franchise record with a 130-77 win over Brooklyn. Denver has won 3 of 5, including a 122-109 result over the Clippers. But the Nuggets lost by double-digits to the Oklahoma City Thunder in their last game.
- Star power: Nikola Jokic enters averaging 29.3 points, 12.0 boards, and 10.7 assists per game. He is currently on a minutes restriction after coming back from an injury and he will try to power through that to help the Nuggets in this matchup. Cade Cunningham leads Detroit with 25.2 points and 9.8 assists, while Jalen Duren provides 10.7 rebounds per game and rim protection.
- Injuries and availability: Denver lists Aaron Gordon out with a hamstring issue, Cameron Johnson out, and Christian Braun as questionable. Detroit has had Caris LeVert out recently with illness and he is questionable to compete in this game.
- Rest and schedule: Both teams get one off day ahead of Tuesday; Detroit returns home after the Brooklyn rout, while Denver is back on the road after their home loss to OKC.

Final Thoughts
Detroit comes into this game with a 19-5 record on their home floor this season. And while the Nuggets are 19-7 on the road for the year, we should see Detroit continue its winning ways at home here. While Jokic should have another big night, even against an elite athlete in Duren, I think that the Pistons will take advantage of the fact that Jokic is on a minutes restriction. I'll lay the points with the Pistons in this marquee matchup in the NBA.
