Key Storylines
- Form and standings: New York sits comfortably above .500 and continues to win with a top tier defense and efficient late-clock shot creation from Jalen Brunson. New York has won six straight games and has worked its way back into second place in the Eastern Conference. Washington owns one of the conference’s weakest records but has picked up a couple of quality home wins in the past week.
- Injuries and availability: New York has listed Mitchell Robinson and Miles McBride as out with ankle issues. Washington saw Tre Johnson roll an ankle and Alex Sarr miss time recently, with Marvin Bagley III returning to the rotation. Trae Young is also out with a knee issue for the Wizards, depriving him of a chance to play his rivals from when he was an Atlanta Hawk.
- Star power: Brunson leads New York at 27.2 points per game. Karl-Anthony Towns adds frontcourt gravity and double-digit rebounds on average. For Washington, Sarr leads the way with 17.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, while young players Kyshawn George and Bilal Coulibaly handle a growing share of ball movement and spacing.
- Scheduling and rest: Both teams had Sunday action, then one day to reset before Tuesday. Travel is light for New York, and Washington stays at home, limiting fatigue as a swing factor in either direction because of travel.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends

Final Thoughts
I don't feel exceedingly confident with laying so many points with the Knicks on the road in this game. But I do think that the Knicks will cover the spread and that it is hard to justify backing any other outcome here. Even if Brunson doesn't have another big game, the depth advantage for the Knicks should be enough to land them a double-digit victory in this contest from Capital One Arena.
