Two Southeast Division rivals meet in Miami, as the Atlanta Hawks visit the Miami Heat with both chasing better playoff positioning. Atlanta’s recent hot streak cooled over the weekend, while Miami has mixed results of late, but continues to defend Kaseya Center well. With the market favoring Miami slightly, you can find my breakdown of this game below, including my Hawks vs Heat prediction in the betting markets.
Our Hawks vs Heat Pick
Pick: Heat -3.5 ATS PRO
Confidence: 3/5
Game Snapshot
- Matchup: Atlanta Hawks @ Miami Heat
- Date & Time: Tuesday, February 3, 2026, 7:30 PM ET
- Venue: Kaseya Center, Miami, Florida
- Broadcast: NBA League Pass
Key Storylines
- Injuries and availability: Atlanta center Onyeka Okongwu has been sidelined with a dental fracture, thinning the Hawks’ interior rotation. Jalen Johnson returned from calf tightness and immediately produced a 33-12-10 line on Saturday, a major boost for the Hawks. Kristaps Porzingis is questionable tonight as well, and his return to the lineup would also be a boost for the Hawks. Miami lists Tyler Herro out with a rib issue, while Norman Powell and Nikola Jovic are both questionable to compete.
- Current form: Miami is 16-9 at home and has leaned on defense and threes to deliver steady results at Kaseya Center. Atlanta is 15-13 on the road but just lost to Indiana away from home, which is a concern.
- Star roles right now: Johnson is Atlanta’s centerpiece at 23.1 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game. For Miami, Powell has been the top scorer at 23.0 points, with Bam Adebayo anchoring the glass near 10 rebounds and Davion Mitchell leading Miami at 7.2 assists.
- Both of these teams are occupying play-in tournament spots going into this matchup. Miami is in a better spot in the standings than the Hawks, but that could change pretty quickly if the Hawks can win here and start piling up victories.

- Both of these teams are 26-25 to the over going into this contest.
Hawks vs Heat Model Projection
Score Projection: Atlanta Hawks 112 – Miami Heat 116
Win Probability: Atlanta Hawks 43%, Miami Heat 57%
Final Thoughts
Miami’s half-court defense and rebounding advantages are the swing factors here. If Johnson gets downhill consistently and Atlanta hits catch-and-shoot threes, the visitors can flip this game around. But with Herro out, the Heat have still uncovered enough perimeter scoring from Powell, and Adebayo’s activity should help the Heat win this game and cover the spread.
