Ji Yeon Kim vs Mandy Bohm Fight Preview
Ji Yeon Kim is on the rare four fight losing streak and still getting another UFC fight. We do not see that often, but when considering the losses and who they were to, the promotion agrees she deserves at least one more fight. Kim is a striker, and has fought effective strikers often in the UFC. Her four current losses have come to Alexa Grasso, Molly McCann, Priscila Cachoeira and Joselyne Edwards. This is a group of effective and aggressive strikers, not ones to be confused with Mandy Bohm.
Bohm is yet to notch a UFC win, and has dropped two decisions while being handily out struck in each. She is low volume, averaging fewer than three significant strikes per minute. For comparison, Kim, in a much larger sample, lands nearly double the strikes per minute as Bohm. What’s worse, Bohm is hit nearly as often as Kim, despite the massive volume discrepancy.
Volume is going to be king, or queen as it were, in this fight. Kim is going to be the better and busier striker throughout this matchup. It would be surprising to see any grappling in this fight, and it is Kim as the only fighter in the matchup with realistic finishing upside. While a decision win is the most likely outcome, it will be Kim landing far more often and a finish should not raise any eyebrows. In any event, we are covering all avenues of victory with the flat bet on Kim.
