The main event of UFC Vegas 69 has had some real fluctuation, but Jessica Andrade vs Erin Blanchfield will be what we get, and it is an exciting one. There have been multiple changes, but the most recent one is Andrade stepping in for Taila Santos on short notice. This will be an incredible measuring stick for Blanchfield, who is extremely young with a limitless ceiling. This is something of a complicated fight to attack from a betting perspective, but I believe there is a very high value way to do so. ✅ The power and overall skill set of Andrade will test the chin of Blanchfield from the onset.
✅ Blanchfield has never faced a striker of this magnitude, and not necessarily close.
✅ Blanchfield may well win the fight, but it if that happens, it is likely the earlier rounds appear more like survival than anything else.

Andrade vs Blanchfield Fight Preview
Jessica Andrade steps in for Taila Santos to take this main event slot, and is set as a -140 favorite. Andrade has previously held the women’s strawweight title and has fought for the flyweight title as well. She is very unique and packs immense power in a very compact frame. Andrade fought less than a month ago and scored an absolutely dominant, bordering on cringeworthy win, as the fight was so lopsided. She landed 231 significant strikes on Lauren Murphy, who was too tough for her own good. That win put Andrade on a three fight win streak since her title shot against Shevchenko. In 15 fights since 2015, Andrade has lost four times, but three were against current champions with the other being against Namajunas, who she had previously beaten for the title.
Andrade remains a dynamo of small stature. She is 5’0″ tall but has strength and power that is quite rare to see in the lower weight divisions of women’s MMA. She hits incredibly hard and brings a wrestling skill set to the table. Andrade’s losses had come at 115 lbs and were due to being outstruck. That changed in her title fight loss to Shevchenko at flyweight. Andrade was dominated in the wrestling battle. This game plan may have been a surprise for her against the champ, but it raises some questions on how her style might match up in this fight. In any event, Andrade is the superior and far more powerful striker, and she will land heavily from the onset.
Contender Or Prospect
Erin Blanchfield, at just 23 years old is being given a very real chance to inject herself into the title conversation at women’s flyweight. She has had just four UFC fights, but has won each while being exposed to differing styles. Where she truly excels is on the mat. Her grappling game is irrefutably refined beyond her years. The question in this matchup is whether she can get that game to work early enough before the inevitable barrage of strikes from Andrade come raining in.
The questions for Blanchfield come in the striking and in her wrestling. The striking is the elephant in the room, and her fight with JJ Aldrich raises some questions on how she will be able to deal with Andrade in that aspect. She will certainly not be the better striker, and it will be necessary for her to get this fight to the mat, in her world, if she is to win. Blanchfield was unable to get her fight with Aldrich to the mat, and despite the guillotine win, it is as ordinary as she has looked in the octagon.
How To Bet This Fight
There is little debate as to where each fighter will want this fight to take place. Andrade will want to strike while Blanchfield will want to wrestle. The earliest portions of the fight will see Andrade at her freshest, strongest and most dynamic. This is where Blanchfield will be tested so extremely heavily, and like never before. She is going to have to eat power shots and show us that she can stay in it, as Andrade will not let up off the gas. This is the reason our prefight wager will be for the +600 Andrade Round 1 KO.
Now, if this wager is not a winner, our betting night is not over. We will accept the loss on the huge plus figure, and look to what is likely another plus figure. We will let rounds 1 and 2 play out, and look to bet Blanchfield on the live odds. If the fight has gone on that long, we will see Andrade’s dynamism begin to fade, and Blanchfield get more opportunity in her wrestling. With three rounds to work from that point, the live bet will be on the Blanchfield side. With any luck she will have dropped rounds 1 and 2 and we will get another juicy plus figure. Blanchfield will be a champion one day, this fight will put a timeline on it.
