The Seattle Mariners and Minnesota Twins continue their series on Tuesday night after a lopsided opener that saw Minnesota break out offensively. Seattle enters the game having won 4 of its last 5 prior to the loss, while Minnesota snapped a rough stretch with an 11-4 victory on Monday. With both teams just under .500 and still finding consistency early in the season, this Mariners vs Twins matchup is an important one for both teams.

Monday’s result will draw attention, but it also creates a bounce-back opportunity for Seattle. The Mariners were rolling prior to that defeat and still hold advantages in overall pitching depth and recent form. Logan Gilbert has not posted dominant numbers yet, though his strikeout rate suggests he is in for positive regression, especially against a Minnesota lineup that has been inconsistent outside of a few breakout performances.
I expect Minnesota’s offense to cool after its surge last night, while Seattle responds with a better pitching effort. A solid outing from Gilbert, paired with timely hitting, should be enough to secure a win. I'll take the Mariners to win this game on the moneyline, as they should even this series at a game apiece.
