The Detroit Tigers close out their road series against the Kansas City Royals on Sunday night looking to avoid a three-game sweep at Kauffman Stadium. Detroit enters the game on a five-game slide after scoring only 4 runs across the first two games of the series, while Kansas City has started to climb back into the AL Central race behind improved pitching and timely hitting. The Royals grabbed a 5-1 win on Saturday as Michael Wacha silenced Detroit’s lineup for seven innings. Betting Trends & H2H

- Detroit is 3-2 against the Royals overall this year.
Tigers vs Royals Model Projection
- Score Projection: Kansas City Royals 5 - Detroit Tigers 3
- Win Probability: Kansas City Royals 58%, Detroit Tigers 42%
Detroit still has enough young talent to break out offensively at any point, but the current offensive slump is difficult to ignore. The Tigers have struggled to generate traffic on the bases during this losing streak, and injuries have started to thin out the pitching staff. Even if Hanifee delivers another solid outing, Detroit may have trouble keeping pace late in the game if the bullpen gets extended. I'll take the Royals to win this game and complete a sweep at home.
