COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Louisville enters with the stronger efficiency profile, ranking near the top nationally in yards per play at 7.1 and producing solid results despite allowing 5.6 yards per play on defense. Georgia Tech has been less efficient overall at 5.8 yards per play and has struggled defensively, allowing 6.0 yards per play and 30.3 points per game. Georgia Tech’s home-side numbers show more difficulty stopping opponents than Louisville’s recent defensive results, while Louisville’s offense has been more explosive and more stable on a per-play basis, which gives the Cardinals the clearer statistical edge entering the game.
Louisville should control the game more often than not, but the best value is on the total rather than the side. Georgia Tech’s defense has allowed 30.3 points per game and 6.0 yards per play, while Louisville has been far more efficient offensively at 7.1 yards per play. Even so, the current total leaves room for a game that reaches the low 60s without needing a full shootout. My projection is Louisville 33, Georgia Tech 27, with the under offering the clearest edge among the available positions.
