COLLEGE BASKETBALL

Clemson’s opening data points to a team that can score efficiently and defend well enough to control the game flow. The Tigers’ shooting splits are strong across the board, and their KenPom profile shows a positive net rating built on a solid offense and above-average defense. That combination usually translates well against lower-major opponents, especially when the favorite also rebounds reasonably and avoids long scoring droughts. North Dakota’s profile is the opposite. The Fighting Hawks have struggled badly with shot making and scoring, and their points allowed per game are well above Clemson’s scoring output. Their offensive rating and defensive rating both signal a team that has had trouble on both ends. Unless Clemson has a major letdown, the matchup favors the home side heavily from tip to finish.
Clemson should control this game from the start and win comfortably behind the bigger scoring edge, cleaner shooting numbers, and much stronger efficiency profile. North Dakota has not shown enough offensive production or defensive resistance to suggest an upset path, so the projection leans to a lopsided Clemson win, 83-57.
