Colorado at Nebraska Betting Pick & Prediction – 9/7/2024
The Colorado Buffaloes will take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers on September 7, 2024, with the Buffaloes entering the game as 7.5 point underdogs according to DraftKings Sportsbook. This matchup promises to be an exciting showdown between two fierce rivals with potential implications for both teams' seasons. Below you will find our analysis and best bet for Colorado vs Nebraska.
Colorado Looks For Another Non-Conference Win Over Nebraska
The Colorado Buffaloes got a win in their opening game of the season against FCS powerhouse North Dakota State. The Buffs won that game 31-26, holding off a late charge from the Bison that nearly resulted in a last-second Hail Mary touchdown to upset Deion Sanders' team. This week, Colorado will look for a second straight non-conference win to open their season, as they face a Nebraska team that they smoked at home in non-conference play last season.
We all know that Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are legitimately excellent college football players. But it is the supporting cast around them that is always a question mark for Colorado. The Buffaloes were inconsistent in the trenches on both sides of the ball against North Dakota State last week. That could be a real problem against a bigger and more physical Nebraska team in this matchup.
Nebraska Seeking Revenge For Last Year's Loss to the Buffs
The Nebraska Cornhuskers opened their season with a blowout win over the UTEP Miners at home, winning 40-7 to kick off the Dylan Raiola era in Lincoln. Raiola completed 19 of his 27 pass attempts in that game, throwing for 238 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Now Raiola will face his biggest test as a college athlete so far, one where he will have to deal with the pressure of a marquee matchup on Saturday night against a well-liked Colorado program.
Last season, Nebraska got crushed by Colorado in Boulder during non-conference play, with turnovers being a huge reason for their struggles at Folsom Field. Raiola will presumably help them to mitigate those turnover issues in this game, but dealing with the pressure of a stage like this one so early in Raiola's career could be a concern here as well.
Colorado vs Nebraska Best Bet
We will lay the points with the Nebraska Cornhuskers in this highly-anticipated matchup on Saturday night. Colorado should get worked in the trenches in this game and that should give the Huskers the upper hand, even if they still have some kinks to work out on both sides of the ball themselves. Expect Nebraska to move to 2-0 on the season at the expense of Deion Sanders' squad.
