That was the last season of Jeff Hafley's tenure as the head coach of the Eagles, as he moved on to join the staff of the Green Bay Packers. His replacement is Bill O'Brien, who has been a head coach in the NFL and has held some high-profile jobs like the head coaching job at Penn State in his career as well.

O'Brien is an offensive-minded coach, which is just what Boston College needs if they want to return to relevance in the ACC in the near future. O'Brien's last two jobs before this one were offensive coordinator jobs for the Alabama Crimson Tide and New England Patriots. If he can create some offensive success early on at Boston College, he could generate some much-needed buzz for that program in a part of the country where college football is anything but king.

Florida State Hopes to Avoid 0-2 Start

The Florida State Seminoles were heavy favorites in their Week 0 matchup with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Ireland. But Florida State last outright in that contest, struggling on offense and with their run defense in what was a flat performance from a previously top-10 team in the rankings. Now Florida State is at home, where they will look to avoid a second straight loss to a conference opponent in what is a must-win game for Mike Norvell's team.

If Florida State wants to win this game and remain a viable candidate to make the College Football Playoff this year, they are going to need more from quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. Uiagalelei was incredibly underwhelming against Georgia Tech, throwing for under 200 yards and not completing a pass longer than 21 yards in that loss. If he plays poorly again this week, the crowd in Tallahassee could turn on Uiagalelei in a hurry.

Boston College vs Florida State Best Bet

We want to believe that Florida State is going to flip the switch and get right offensively against Boston College on Labor Day. But with the way Uiagalelei played in Week 0, we are not exactly convinced that a turnaround is imminent. Instead, we will take the under in this contest and bank on some continued growing pains for both offenses in this all-ACC matchup.
