Sunday afternoon’s American Athletic Conference game between the Tulane Green Wave and the UAB Blazers features two teams in the middle of the pack in the AAC standings. Tulane heads into Bartow Arena as a clear underdog, attempting to right the ship after a loss earlier in the season and improve its conference standing. UAB carries recent momentum and the comfort of playing at home into this rematch after building a solid record in mid-February. Before this contest begins, you can keep scrolling to find my Tulane vs UAB prediction.
Pick: UAB Blazers -6.5 ATS PRO
Confidence: ★★★★☆
Tulane enters this contest aiming to redeem itself after a home conference loss to UAB earlier in the season. On January 14, UAB cruised to an 82-69 victory over Tulane at Devlin Fieldhouse, gaining an edge in the season series and exposing the Green Wave's defensive inconsistencies. Tulane’s most recent outing saw it bounce back with a quality 77-66 win over Temple, where the Green Wave shot well and limited its opponent’s efficiency in the second half.
UAB has steadied its form with a couple of wins in the past week, including a 68-63 victory at Tulsa. Four players average double digits in scoring for the Blazers, as UAB has cultivated a balanced offense that can create good looks across multiple positions. The Blazers’ assist-to-turnover ratio is among league leaders, indicating good ball control that helps them sustain offensive pressure. Despite a 7-7 home mark through the season so far, UAB’s recent results show a team peaking at the right time within conference play. This game represents an opportunity for UAB to strengthen its position in the AAC and potentially move closer to a better seed heading into the conference tournament.
UAB has dominated the recent head-to-head, winning the last four of five against Tulane. The Blazers are 28-14 all-time against the Green Wave and will try to use that to their advantage to get a win here. Tulane enters this contest with a 10-13 record against the spread this year. UAB is slightly better against the spread this year at 12-12.
Score Projection: Tulane 68 – UAB 78 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Tulane 28%, UAB 72% ATS PRO
My projections confirm that this is a favorable spot for UAB to solidify its lead over Tulane in both the season series and the AAC standings. The Blazers’ balanced scoring, effective ball control, and home-court advantage make them a solid choice for bettors looking to back a home favorite. I recommend laying the points with the Blazers here, as they should get a third straight win and a fifth win in six outings.
