Key Storylines
- Purdue’s engine is senior guard Braden Smith, who paces the team at 15.2 points and 8.7 assists per game while shooting at an efficient clip. His tempo control and two-man actions with Trey Kaufman-Renn create clean looks for shooters like Fletcher Loyer.
- Trey Kaufman-Renn anchors the glass at 8.3 rebounds per game and stabilizes Purdue’s interior next to Oscar Cluff. Extra possessions from offensive boards have been a quiet driver of the Boilermakers’ 83 points per game and 51% shooting.
- Nebraska’s featured scorer is Pryce Sandfort, who averages 17.1 points and headlines a balanced offensive group. The Huskers allow only 66.1 points per game and hold opponents to 47% shooting, numbers that typically tighten at home.
- Nebraska comes into this game with a 12-1 record on their home floor this season. The Boilermakers are 5-2 in true road games this season. And with both teams ranked in the top 15 in the country going into this contest, a win here would keep the winner within shouting distance of the Michigan Wolverines at the top of the Big Ten standings.

Final Thoughts
This should be a close game to the very end and I think the under is the best bet for it. Both of these teams will play a slower tempo, while Nebraska leans heavily on its defense to find success on this stage. I lean slightly toward Nebraska getting the win at home, but I feel more confident in this game being low-scoring down the stretch.
