Why Bet on Notre Dame:
✅ Notre Dame has lost all but three games in ACC play so far this season. However, they have looked respectable down the stretch, keeping games close with double-bye recipients Duke and Virginia. They will do so again in this game.
✅ These two teams played once already this season, with Virginia Tech beating Notre Dame by six at home. The Irish scored 87 points in the loss, and they will be competitive once again.
✅ There is an element of pride for Notre Dame to play with here. This could be the final game they play with Mike Brey as their head coach. Expect them to come out and at least try and keep his career with the Fighting Irish going for another day, helping keep this one tight.

Teams Last 10
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Going into the ACC Tournament, Notre Dame has had a rough go of it in conference play this season. They are 3-17 in the ACC this year, and finished 14th of 15 teams in the league. However, they get a clean slate here, as a string of wins in the ACC Tournament would still put them in the NCAA Tournament via automatic bid.
As unlikely as it is that Notre Dame would go all the way in this tournament, they can be expected to come out and fight in Greensboro. The Fighting Irish managed to secure a home win over Pitt in Mike Brey’s final home game, and at least one win in this tournament would be a fitting way to send Brey off for good.
Virginia Tech Hokies
The Virginia Tech Hokies finished 8-12 in the ACC this season, putting them in 11th place in the conference standings. They have won two games in a row going into the conference tournament, but those wins came against Louisville and Florida State, arguably the two worst teams in the league this year. Now, the Hokies will look to make some noise in the ACC Tournament, to atone for what has been an up and down season.
If Virginia Tech is going to win this game and keep its season alive, they will need Grant Basile and Justyn Mutts to play at a high level. Basile, a fifth-year transfer from Wright State of the Horizon League, has adjusted nicely to Power 5 basketball this season. He has led the Hokies in scoring with 16.5 points per game, and he will be the engine that propels the Virginia Tech offense if they do win here.
