In the semifinals of the 2023 ACC Tournament, there is one more NCAA Tournament bubble question to be answered. The Clemson Tigers are on the bubble heading into Friday night, and a win would do wonders for their chances of getting into the field of 68. But to win this Clemson vs Virginia matchup, they will need to deliver offensively in a way that is tough to do against the Cavaliers.

Why Bet on the Under:
✅ Virginia plays basketball at a glacial pace, ranking in the bottom-five in adjusted tempo at Kenpom among all 363 Division I teams. They will take the air out of the ball here to help this game stay under the total.
✅ These teams played a 64-57 game just before the start of the ACC Tournament, and we should get another low-scoring affair in this matchup.

Clemson Tigers: One Win Away From March Madness
The Clemson Tigers kept their season alive on Thursday night, beating up on the NC State Wolfpack in a battle of bubble teams. That win set up this Clemson vs Virginia matchup, which Clemson will also need to win to solidify a place in the NCAA Tournament. To pick up that win, the Tigers will have to breach one of the best defenses in all of college basketball.
Clemson actually shot a better percentage from the field against Virginia in their lone regular season meeting this year. But they turned the ball over 11 times to Virginia’s eight, and the Tigers will have to take better care of the basketball so that their season does not both literally and figuratively slip through their fingers here.
Virginia Cavaliers: Looking to End Another ACC Team’s Season
The Virginia Cavaliers ended the NCAA Tournament hopes of the North Carolina Tar Heels on Thursday night, beating UNC in the ACC quarterfinals. Virginia now has a chance to burst another team’s bubble for the second night in a row as they face Clemson on Friday night.
Virginia has been on fire defensively of late, giving up 60 or fewer points in three games in a row. They held North Carolina to 35.8% shooting from the field last night, and just 29.6% shooting from three-point range. Another defensive master class like that could send Virginia to the ACC Tournament final and knock Clemson off the bubble entirely.
