- Rodriguez has won two of his last three fights by decision.
- Estrada is a heavy favorite to win this fight but his price to win by decision is much better than backing him to simply win outright.
The main event in the boxing world this weekend will take place at Footprint Center in Phoenix. There, Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez will put his undefeated record on the line in a super flyweight title fight against Juan Francisco Estrada. Continue reading our boxing betting picks for Estrada vs Rodriguez, a title fight between two men who have both not lost in a very long time.
This fight will be held at Footprint Center on Saturday, June 29, 2024.
Juan Francisco Estrada
Juan Francisco Estrada is a seasoned veteran in the fight game, holding a professional record of 44-3. He has won eight straight fights, with his last loss coming all the way back in 2018. But Estrada is expected to lose in Saturday’s Estrada vs Rodriguez fight, in what is quite clearly the toughest test of his long professional boxing career.
One of the biggest question marks for Estrada coming into this fight will be how he handles not being in the ring for as long as he has. The last fight for Estrada came back in December of 2022, as he has spent over a year and a half without a professional bout. To beat Rodriguez, a fighter would presumably need to be as sharp as possible and that is not likely to be the case with the aging Estrada here.
Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez
Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez enters this weekend’s super flyweight title fight with Juan Francisco Estrada a perfect 19-0 in his career. He is coming off of a fight where he got Sunny Edwards to retire in the ninth round, before agreeing to move up to super flyweight for this matchup. Rodriguez is one of the better pound-for-pound fighters going right now and will look to prove that by adding another belt to his collection on Saturday night.
If there is a question mark about Rodriguez going into this fight it is the fact that he is going from flyweight to super flyweight. While this is not as dramatic a jump in weight as possible, you still never quite know how a fighter is going to react to any sort of change. But still, Rodriguez should be fine in this fight against an opponent that appears to be past his prime at this stage.
