Key Storylines
- Washington is attempting to secure its first home win after opening 0-2 on its home floor. The Mystics have lost three of their last four games and will try to get back on the right track here.
- Chicago has been much stronger on the road than at home, but they have lost four games in a row and have struggled with injuries early in the year.
- The Mystics have received strong production from their young frontcourt, led by Shakira Austin and Kiki Iriafen.
- Injuries could play a role, with Washington missing key scorer Sonia Citron and Chicago dealing with several rotation concerns. The Sky are without Rickea Jackson for the remainder of the season, while DiJonai Carrington and Courtney Vandersloot are also out.
Key Players
Washington Mystics
- Shakira Austin is the focal point of the Mystics offense. She enters the game averaging 17.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. Her ability to score inside and control the glass gives Washington a reliable option in half-court situations.
- Kiki Iriafen has quickly become one of the team's most valuable rebounders. Her work on the boards helps create extra possessions and limits opponents' second-chance opportunities.
- Georgia Amoore provides ball handling and perimeter creation. Washington needs her to manage tempo and reduce the team's turnover issues, especially with Citron out.
Chicago Sky
- Kamilla Cardoso remains the centerpiece of Chicago's frontcourt. She is averaging 12.9 points and 9.6 rebounds while providing rim protection and interior scoring.
- Natasha Cloud brings veteran leadership, defense, and playmaking. Her experience is especially important in close road games. With so many key scorers out for Chicago, she needs to be more aggressive than usual offensively.
- Azura Stevens adds versatility with her ability to stretch the floor and contribute on the boards, making her an important piece against Washington's size.

Sky vs Mystics Model Projection
- Score Projection: Chicago Sky 80 - Washington Mystics 84
- Win Probability: Chicago Sky 45%, Washington Mystics 55%
The Mystics own the better shooting percentage, hold a slight edge on the glass, and feature the most productive individual scorer on the floor in Shakira Austin. While both teams have struggled defensively, Washington's frontcourt size should help limit Chicago's opportunities around the basket. Expect the Mystics to do the better job of overcoming their key backcourt injuries to win this matchup at home and hand Chicago a fifth straight loss.
