Who Runs The Better Sportsbook? BetRivers vs. FanDuel Sportsbook

BetRivers and FanDuel Sportsbook are two of the top sportsbooks in the United States, and they each offer a phenomenal betting experience to their customers.

Although FanDuel is perhaps better well-known, especially because of the top-tier daily fantasy sports (DFS) contests they offer, BetRivers is undoubtedly a trustworthy, reliable option for American bettors and is rapidly growing in popularity.

As both platforms continue to expand their presence and launch in new states, sports bettors will have a very tough decision to make. BetRivers or FanDuel? The choice can depend on many different factors, such as an individual's personal preferences and what they value most in a sportsbook.

Brief Overview of BetRivers and FanDuel Sportsbook

Choosing one sportsbook over another is no easy task. The deciding factor could be customer service, market depth, promotional offers, rewards programs, or potentially many other important aspects of a sports betting platform.

Shown below is a general overview of the best features offered by BetRivers and FanDuel Sportsbook!

Comparing Welcome Offers & Sign Up Bonuses

The welcome offers provided by BetRivers and FanDuel Sportsbook are both very generous. Let's take a quick look at what they have to offer!

The BetRivers 2nd Chance Bet allows customers to get a full refund of up to $500 in the form of bonus bets if their first wager on the platform is unsuccessful.

An initial deposit of at least $10 is required to qualify, and the bonus amount awarded will last for 30 days after issuance. Furthermore, the bonus bets can be used on any wager with odds of -200 or longer (-150, +110, etc.).

Meanwhile, the FanDuel Bet $5 Get $150 Promo at FanDuel Sportsbook is now available, and it allows all new users to unlock $150 in bonus bets as soon as they place their first wager of $5 or more.

It doesn't matter if the bet wins or loses. Either way, bettors are guaranteed to start off with a $150 bonus that can be used to place additional wagers on all your favorite players and teams!

As you can see, the BetRivers and FanDuel sign-up bonuses are a bit different. Neither offer is inherently better; instead, it simply depends on the preferences and betting style of the individual.

BetRivers vs. FanDuel: Ongoing Bonuses & Promotions

In addition to their exciting welcome offers, BetRivers and FanDuel Sportsbook offer many ongoing bonuses and promotional deals to their existing customers. BetRivers Sportsbook is currently providing users with bonus bets when they place same-game parlays (SGPs), first goal promos on NHL games, and the chance to win $10,000 in bonus money on college basketball and NBA squares.

Meanwhile, FanDuel Sportsbook is currently offering profit boosts on MLB matchups, no sweat SGPs, and refer-a-friend bonuses to their customers. Both sportsbooks offer an amazing selection of special deals and bonuses to their users on an everyday basis, and it does not appear as if FanDuel or BetRivers Sportsbook has a distinct advantage in this particular category.

Location & Availability: Where Are They Legal?

FanDuel and BetRivers Sportsbook are each available in many different locations across the United States. The table below provides a comprehensive list of the U.S. states where at least one of the online platforms is live.

Although both online sportsbooks are widely accessible throughout the country, FanDuel has launched in six more U.S. states (Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Vermont, and Wyoming) than BetRivers.

Nevertheless, both platforms are rapidly growing and entering new markets every year, and their availability will only increase as more states begin to legalize sports betting.

BetRivers vs. FanDuel: Market Depth & Variety

In terms of the number of sporting events and markets available for bettors, FanDuel and BetRivers Sportsbook are two of the best in the business. The chart below shows the sports currently being offered on each platform.

*Note: These options may vary across locations and at different times throughout the year.

The sports betting sites each cover a wide range of sports and leagues from around the world, and the most popular U.S. sports leagues (NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL) are available on both FanDuel and BetRivers.

However, it is worth noting that BetRivers Sportsbook has a slighter larger selection than FanDuel, especially in terms of the betting options for niche sports (e.g., curling, Jai-Alai, and eSports) that they offer to their customers.

Types of Wagers Offered & Live Betting Experience

FanDuel and BetRivers give their customers many different options to choose from on their platforms. Both sportsbooks include the following bet types: point spreads, over/under totals, moneylines, player props, team props, game props, parlays, same-game parlays (SGPs), teasers, and more.

Although it is a close race, FanDuel Sportsbook appears to have a slight edge because they generally provide more alternative lines and also typically have more options available for their SGPs.

Furthermore, users of either sportsbook can choose to place in-game wagers on basketball, baseball, football, soccer, hockey, cricket, and many other sports.

The live betting experience offered by BetRivers Sportsbook tends to cover more sports and leagues from around the world, while the in-play betting experience offered by FanDuel Sportsbook generally offers a wider range of bet types.

BetRivers vs. FanDuel: Odds Comparison

BetRivers and FanDuel Sportsbook each provide some of the most competitive odds on the market. Neither platform seems to have the upper hand over the other, as their odds can often vary depending on a number of different factors. As a result, the best option for sports bettors may be to create accounts with both sportsbooks and shop around for the best odds when wanting to place a bet.

Finding the best odds for a given matchup or sporting event is extremely important for bettors who are looking to be profitable in the long run. For example, if an individual's average wager is placed at -110 odds (i.e., the industry standard), then they will need to win roughly 52.38% of their bets to break even.

However, if their average wager is placed at -105 odds, then the bettor would need to win just 51.2% of their bets to be profitable. Although this may not necessarily seem like a significant gap at first, being able to get the best odds on a consistent basis could very well be the difference between making money and losing it.

Customer Rewards & Loyalty Programs

The iRush Rewards Program offered by BetRivers Sportsbook is the biggest advantage it has over FanDuel Sportsbook. BetRivers users earn Bonus Store Points for betting on sports or playing online casino games, and they can redeem them for bonus bets and many other special rewards.

In addition, customers earn Loyalty Level Points that help them advance to higher tiers and unlock special benefits such as custom deposit limit assistance, exclusive BetRivers merchandise, VIP birthday gifts, expedited withdrawals, and much more.

Meanwhile, FanDuel Sportsbook does not currently offer a customer loyalty program. There is a FanDuel Players Club, which offers exciting prizes and rewards to users; however, this feature is only available to daily fantasy sports (DFS) players, not sports bettors.

BetRivers vs. FanDuel: Deposits & Withdrawals

BetRivers and FanDuel Sportsbook each allow their users to make deposits and withdrawals in many different ways. The current options available for customers of either sportsbook are depicted in the tables below.

Deposit Methods

*Note: The payment options available typically vary across jurisdictions.

Both online sportsbooks include popular payment options such as debit/credit cards, online banking, PayPal, Venmo, and several others.

In addition, the minimum deposit amount is $10 on both FanDuel and BetRivers Sportsbook, while their maximum deposit amounts vary depending on the deposit method used.

Withdrawal Methods

There are no significant differences between the withdrawal methods and durations offered by FanDuel and BetRivers. Each platform allows users to conveniently withdraw funds from their account by cash (in certain states), check, online banking methods, PayPal, and Play+ prepaid cards.

Although the typical withdrawal durations in the chart above are fairly similar, BetRivers has a reputation for consistently offering speedy payouts to their customers and seems to have a slight edge in this category.

Customer Service & Support

Neither sportsbook has a distinct advantage when it comes to the customer service they provide. Both FanDuel and BetRivers Sportsbook offer a wide variety of help articles on their platform covering frequently asked questions (FAQ) about the registration process, their availability in various locations, how to make deposits and withdrawals, claiming promotional offers, and much more.

Additionally, users of BetRivers and FanDuel can reach out to each sportsbook's customer support staff by phone, email, and Twitter. However, most customers will choose to use the Live Chat feature offered by both platforms. This option allows customers to get their questions answered and problems resolved almost immediately by Live Chat agents who are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

BetRivers vs. FanDuel: Mobile App & User Experience

In addition to each sportsbook's website, both BetRivers and FanDuel offer a mobile app for Apple iOS and Android devices on the App Store and Google Play Store. The FanDuel Sportsbook & Casino app is currently rated 4.8 out of 5 stars on the App Store and 4.7 out of 5 stars on the Google Play Store.

In comparison, the BetRivers Casino & Sportsbook app is rated 4.5 out of 5 stars on the App Store but just 3.7 out of 5 stars on the Google Play Store.

Overall, the BetRivers and FanDuel Sportsbook mobile apps are both very convenient, easy to use, and reliable options for sports bettors.

However, the FanDuel Sportsbook & Casino app has a clear edge over the BetRivers Casino & Sportsbook app, as it tends to run a bit smoother (i.e., fewer lags and crashes) and allows for easier navigation between different betting options, promotional deals, and account information.

Final Verdict: BetRivers or FanDuel?

After considering many of the most important aspects of each sportsbook, it is clear that both BetRivers and FanDuel are top-tier options for sports bettors in the United States. Choosing between the two platforms will ultimately come down to what you value most and which features are most important to you.

BetRivers Sportsbook offers one of the best customer rewards programs in the industry, speedy payouts, and a 2nd Chance Bet of up to $500. On the other hand, FanDuel Sportsbook provides users with exciting everyday promotional offers, a first-class mobile app, and incredible customer service.

As a result, rather than picking one or the other, the best option may just be to choose both FanDuel and BetRivers. In other words, you could sign up on each platform, claim their welcome offer, and shop for the best odds while figuring out which option works best for you!
