The women’s snowboard cross event at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina is shaping up to be one of the most exciting races at these Games, with a deep field of competitors and several names poised to challenge for medals. With big personalities and experience on full display, this competition could deliver edge-of-your-seat racing for fans all the way through to the end of the big final. Before this event begins in Italy, you will find my women's snowboard cross prediction here.
These odds reflect the current positions across major sportsbooks leading into the women’s snowboard cross event at the 2026 Winter Olympics:
One of the key stories coming into this event is Charlotte Bankes’ rise to the status of gold-medal favorite despite never having reached the Olympic podium in her previous appearances. Bankes' consistency this season on the snowboard cross World Cup circuit, including victories and top finishes, has established her at the top of the betting market. Her strong World Cup results suggest she has finally found the form to contend for Olympic hardware after years of being among the sport’s most formidable athletes without a medal to show for it.
Italy’s Michela Moioli, another veteran with Olympic experience and past world titles, carries the hopes of the host nation into the competition. Moioli has been in elite form and won the world championship, so her +350 price represents significant value for bettors seeking a veteran performer with a real shot at the podium.
The absence of 2022 gold medalist Lindsey Jacobellis opens the door further for emerging athletes to push for medals. French competitors like Julia Nirani-Pereira and Chloe Trespeuch bring Olympic experience and proven results on the World Cup circuit. Trespeuch’s Olympic silver from the previous Games and consistent results make her a risk worth considering for top three placement, even if her outright odds are longer.
Josie Baff from Australia has shown podium form this season and sits close behind Bankes and Moioli in World Cup standings, while newcomers like Lea Casta could surprise at their first Olympic appearance, having claimed significant success on the World Cup tour entering the Games.
Pick: Charlotte Bankes to win gold ATS PRO
Confidence: 4 out of 5
Charlotte Bankes stands out not only because she tops the betting odds but also due to her recent results and sustained excellence on the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup circuit. Her consistency throughout the season demonstrates an ability to handle the pressure of big races and adapt to varied course conditions. Although she has never won an Olympic medal, her recent form suggests she is peaking at exactly the right moment and has the momentum needed to end that drought at Milan-Cortina. I will take the Brit in what should be a fun day of racing in Italy.
