Arsenal produced more than 2.0 expected goals while restricting Chelsea to roughly 0.35 expected goals in Sunday’s 2-1 victory. Napoli, meanwhile, have lost consecutive league matches and conceded five goals across defeats to Como and Inter. Arsenal should still offer value up to 58¢, although the advantage becomes too small above that point.

Arsenal could hardly have asked for a better domestic start. Mikel Arteta’s side have beaten Coventry City 3-0, Aston Villa 1-0 and Chelsea 2-1, taking nine points from nine while conceding just once in their last two matches. Their response against Chelsea was particularly encouraging. Arsenal fell behind after 77 seconds but controlled much of what followed, with Kai Havertz and Martin Ødegaard scoring to complete the comeback.
Napoli’s start has been less convincing. After winning 2-0 at Genoa, they lost 2-1 at home to Como before falling 3-2 at Inter. The Inter defeat will sting because Napoli led 2-0 before conceding three unanswered goals, including the winner in the final minute from Lautaro Martinez.
Arsenal’s main absence is William Saliba, who remains unavailable with a back injury. Jurrien Timber and Cristhian Mosquera are also doubts, leaving Arteta with decisions to make across his back line. Even so, Arsenal retain considerable attacking depth through Bukayo Saka, Ødegaard, Havertz, Viktor Gyökeres, Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice.
Napoli have more serious availability concerns. Scott McTominay is set to miss the match following a medical procedure, while Alessandro Buongiorno and Luca Marianucci are unavailable with knee injuries. Those absences remove physical strength from midfield and depth from the defensive unit, both of which are vital against last year's Champions League runners-up.
Napoli’s best route may be to attack quickly after turnovers rather than allowing Arsenal to settle into sustained possession. Rasmus Højlund gives the Italian side a direct target, while Matteo Politano, David Neres and Kevin De Bruyne can create danger if Arsenal leave space while pushing their fullbacks forward.
Arsenal should have the advantage in midfield. Ødegaard’s movement between the lines has been sharp early in the season, and Arsenal can combine that creativity with Rice’s control and Saka’s ability to create one-on-one situations. Napoli’s midfield will have a harder time protecting its back line without McTominay.
The thing that could decide this match is Arsenal's mentality. This is the first European match that Arsenal will play since their penalty shootout loss to PSG in last season's Champions League final. And while the Gunners have looked good early on in domestic competition, being back on the European stage could cause some unforeseen reactions.
I do not expect that to be a problem for Arteta's Arsenal, though. The English champions have proven themselves capable of overcoming adversity on multiple occasions during their current run atop England and should pass another test of their fortitude en route to a win in Italy.
