Chelsea should receive a major attacking boost with Cole Palmer expected to be available after withdrawing from England duty with a muscular issue. His return strengthens the attacking side of the BTTS thesis. Palmer gives Chelsea another creator between the lines and reduces the chance of the home side struggling to convert possession into clear chances.
There are still concerns elsewhere, however. Moisés Caicedo and Reece James remains doubts, while João Pedro remains unavailable.
Bournemouth have a more significant absence in midfield. Alex Scott is ruled out with a thigh injury, removing one of their best progressive carriers and reducing their ability to play through pressure.
That hurts Bournemouth’s buildup, but it does not remove their transition threat. Tavernier, Rayan and Evanilson still give them enough direct attacking quality to trouble Chelsea if the home side leave space behind their midfield.
Chelsea predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Martínez; Fofana, Lacroix, Colwill; Neto, Henderson, Barco, Chavarría; Palmer, Rogers; Welbeck.
Bournemouth predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; Smith, Hill, António Silva, Truffert; Adams, Christie; Rayan, Tavernier, Kluivert; Evanilson.
