Key Storylines
- North Carolina enters this game after an 85-80 road win at Virginia a week ago and a 91-69 demolition of Notre Dame in the game before that. Their offense is trending in the right direction with two straight wins after a brutal two-game losing streak out in California.
- Georgia Tech has lost two straight games and four of their last five outings. Georgia Tech’s front line hinges on Baye Ndongo’s activity on the glass and his rim protection, with scoring from Kowacie Reeves Jr. on the wing and Lamar Washington serving as the lead facilitator.
- The star power for North Carolina is led by standout forward Caleb Wilson, who is averaging roughly 20 points and 10 rebounds with immense two-way impact and improved efficiency inside the arc as the season has gone on.
- North Carolina comes into this game in sixth place in the ACC standings, while Georgia Tech is in the bottom five in the league. Both teams need wins for ACC Tournament seeding purposes, with UNC trying to move up to get one of the top seeds, while Georgia Tech is trying to avoid being one of the bottom teams heading into tournament time.

Final Thoughts
North Carolina brings the higher ceiling on both ends of the floor, led by Caleb Wilson’s interior scoring and ability to clean the glass. Georgia Tech’s best path is to muck it up in the half-court, win the offensive rebounding battle with Ndongo, and get a cold perimeter shooting day from the Heels. I am expecting North Carolina to win this game and keep pace with the leaders in the ACC. But I'm going to take the points with Georgia Tech on their home floor here.
