Boston is struggling to find stability of late. They have lost 6 of their last 10 games, with all of those losses coming in regulation. Their recent 5–4 loss to Detroit was far from authoritative, leaving defensive concerns heading into this game. Offensively, the Bruins have scored just over 3.00 goals per game, but their lack of defensive consistency has hurt them.
St. Louis has gone 3-3-4 in their last 10 games, including a 4–1 loss to Anaheim in their last outing. That loss ended a two-game winning streak for the Blues. The Blues’ scoring differential stands at –26 (69 goals for, 95 against). They will try to avoid a second loss in a row against a Bruins team that is 9-5-0 at home on the season.
For Boston, the likely starter is Jeremy Swayman. He has an 11-7-0 record with a .910 save percentage and a goals-against average of 2.80. That’s serviceable, though Swayman has not been elite this season. St. Louis is expected to counter with Jordan Binnington, whose 6-6-5 record comes with a .878 save rate and a lofty 3.20 GAA. Those numbers make him a weak link so far this season.
On offense, Boston will rely on David Pastrnak, who has 11 goals and 18 assists so far this season and remains their most consistent scoring threat. Supporting him, veteran defenseman Hampus Lindholm has contributed 5 assists over his last 10 games and will be important in managing Boston’s defense as well. For St. Louis, Robert Thomas leads the way with 17 total points. Watch out for Jordan Kyrou as well, who has 3 goals and 3 assists over his last 10 games.

David Pastrnak | Over 1.5 Points |
Dylan Holloway | Over 0.5 Goals |
Score Projection: Bruins 4 – Blues 2
Win Probability: Bruins 56%, Blues 44%
Even though the Blues are listed as favorites by some odds providers, I think that the Bruins have the inside track to win this game. Boston is at home, where they have had success this season, and they have a huge goaltending edge in this contest. I'll go with Boston to avoid a second loss in a row by beating the Blues.
