The Seattle Kraken will take on the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night in the NHL. Both teams enter this contest in postseason contention and looking to improve their chances of moving up in the standings. But only one of these teams can get a win in this inter-conference matchup from Newark. Before the puck drops in New Jersey, continue reading to get my Kraken vs Devils prediction on the ice.
Pick: | Kraken ML ATS PRO |
Confidence: | 2/5 |
Seattle enters this game riding strong recent results, posting a 9‑3 straight‑up record across their last 12 outings and generating offense at a solid clip. Their latest effort saw them overcome an early deficit to defeat the New York Rangers 4‑2, with contributions from Jordan Eberle and Berkly Catton sparking the comeback. Goaltender Philipp Grubauer has steadied the ship in net, giving Seattle a chance in most games lately.
The Devils are coming off a noteworthy offensive night where Ondrej Palat scored twice in a 5‑2 win over the Wild, but New Jersey’s recent form has been less consistent overall. New Jersey enters this game with a 3‑6‑1 record in their last 10 games and facing questions surrounding their ability to control games defensively.
Both teams appear to be relatively healthy with no major injuries listed on the latest available reports, although Seattle has seen Chandler Stephenson and Max McCormick on injured reserve earlier in the season. Offensive leaders Jesper Bratt for the Devils and Jordan Eberle for the Kraken will be focal points, as both players have been leading their respective teams in offensive production.
Score Projection: Seattle Kraken 3 – New Jersey Devils 2 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Seattle Kraken 51%, New Jersey Devils 49% ATS PRO
This is going to be a tight game, but I would lean toward the Seattle Kraken getting the job done on the road. The Devils are struggling of late, having lost four of their last five games. I'm expecting their struggles to continue here and for the Kraken to continue playing some strong hockey as they look to remain in the top three in the Pacific Division after the action wraps up on Wednesday night.
