Hurricanes vs Blues Player Props: Holloway's Hot Streak

Dylan Holloway couldn't have picked a much better time to find his scoring touch.
The St. Louis Blues forward scored twice and added an assist in Thursday's 6-2 victory over Vegas, extending his point streak to six games. He's now recorded ten points during that stretch, helping the Blues recover from a difficult start to the season.
Next up are the Carolina Hurricanes, who suffered a frustrating 6-5 shootout defeat against Edmonton on Thursday despite holding a two-goal lead entering the third period.
Carolina has been one of the NHL's strongest teams this season, but its defensive performance against the Oilers exposed some vulnerabilities.
For Saturday's player props, I'm particularly interested in whether Holloway can extend his point streak to seven games.

The Carolina Hurricanes visit the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Saturday, October 24, with puck drop scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
Carolina enters with an 8-2-2 record, while St. Louis has improved to 5-4-1 following consecutive victories against Winnipeg and Vegas.
The Hurricanes are favored on Kalshi and Polymarket, with game-winner markets indicating approximately a 60–62% probability of a Carolina victory.
That's understandable considering Carolina's overall form. However, St. Louis has been particularly competitive at home, carrying a 3-0-1 record at Enterprise Center.
I'm more interested in the individual scoring markets than the game result. Holloway's recent production, combined with Carolina's demanding road schedule, creates an intriguing opportunity.
Holloway has three goals and seven assists through ten appearances, but those season totals don't tell the entire story.
All ten points have come during his current six-game point streak.
Thursday's performance against Vegas was his best of the season. Holloway assisted on Jimmy Snuggerud's third-period goal before scoring twice himself, including a power-play goal that completed St. Louis' 6-2 victory.
It was exactly the kind of performance the Blues needed from one of their most important young forwards.
His production shouldn't come as a complete surprise, either.
Holloway recorded 51 points in 59 games during the 2025-26 season, following a 63-point campaign the previous year. He's established himself as a legitimate top-six forward since arriving in St. Louis.
What's particularly encouraging is his current role.
Holloway has been playing alongside Robert Thomas and Jimmy Snuggerud on the Blues' first line. Thomas provides the playmaking, while Snuggerud has emerged as another dangerous finishing option.
Holloway doesn't need to score himself to contribute. With those two linemates, he has several ways to extend his point streak.
The Hurricanes have been excellent for much of the opening month, but Thursday's defeat against Edmonton wasn't particularly encouraging.
Carolina led 4-2 after two periods and appeared to be heading toward another impressive road victory.
Instead, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl took over.
Both players finished with five points, and Edmonton scored three times during the third period before eventually winning in a shootout.
What's remarkable is that the Oilers managed just 21 shots on goal during regulation and overtime.
Carolina controlled considerable stretches of the game, but its defensive breakdowns proved costly.
The Hurricanes also conceded three power-play goals, an area that could prove important against St. Louis.
The Blues converted both of their power-play opportunities against Vegas, with Holloway scoring one of those goals.
I'm not suggesting Carolina suddenly has a terrible penalty kill. One difficult performance against McDavid and Draisaitl shouldn't erase everything the Hurricanes accomplished earlier this season.
However, the timing is interesting, particularly with St. Louis beginning to generate more offense.
St. Louis has scored eight goals across its last two appearances, and Thursday's victory was arguably its most impressive performance of the season.
Vegas entered the game with an 8-3-0 record and plenty of offensive confidence.
The Blues responded by scoring six times, with contributions throughout their lineup.
Justin Barron recorded four points, Mason McTavish scored his sixth goal of the season, and Snuggerud added a goal and an assist.
For Holloway, that's encouraging.
The Blues aren't relying entirely on their first line to generate offense, which should make it more difficult for Carolina to concentrate its defensive resources on Thomas, Holloway and Snuggerud.
Snuggerud is particularly interesting.
The 22-year-old has six goals through ten games and continues to receive significant offensive opportunities. His finishing ability gives Holloway another legitimate option when creating chances.
If St. Louis can maintain its recent offensive momentum, I like Holloway's chances of contributing another point.
Carolina has plenty of offensive firepower of its own, beginning with Sebastian Aho.
The Finnish center recorded a goal and an assist against Edmonton, bringing him to seven goals and nine assists through 12 games.
He's also been a consistent contributor during Carolina's road trip, which has included stops in Winnipeg, Calgary, Vancouver and Edmonton.
Aho remains the focal point of the Hurricanes' first power-play unit and has recently been playing alongside William Carrier and Andrei Svechnikov at even strength.
His 1+ point market certainly deserves consideration.
However, St. Louis goaltender Joel Hofer has been excellent to begin the season, and the Blues have looked considerably more organized during their recent home appearances.
That's enough to make me cautious about chasing Aho at an aggressive entry price.
One of the more interesting developments for Carolina is the return of Seth Jarvis.
The 24-year-old made his season debut against Edmonton on Thursday after recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
He wasted little time making an impact, scoring Carolina's third goal during the second period.
Jarvis has scored 32 goals in each of the last two seasons, making him an important addition to a Hurricanes team dealing with several injuries.
However, he returned on a line with Jordan Martinook and Jesperi Kotkaniemi rather than immediately reclaiming his previous offensive responsibilities.
He also worked with Carolina's second power-play unit before Thursday's game.
That's understandable considering his extended absence.
Jarvis' return improves Carolina's depth, but I'd prefer another game or two before supporting an aggressive scoring position based on his previous production.
For Saturday, Holloway remains my preferred option.
St. Louis' most recent first line featured Dylan Holloway, Robert Thomas and Jimmy Snuggerud, followed by Connor McMichael, Mason McTavish and Jonatan Berggren.
Pavel Buchnevich, Jake Neighbours and Dalibor Dvorsky provide additional offensive options, while Philip Broberg and Colton Parayko remain important contributors on defense.
The Blues continue to manage several injuries, including Tyler Tucker, Logan Mailloux and Alexey Toropchenko.
Carolina's latest top line featured William Carrier, Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov. Nikolaj Ehlers, Logan Stankoven and Jackson Blake have formed another productive combination.
Jordan Staal remains sidelined with a calf injury, while Taylor Hall and Mark Jankowski are also unavailable.
Pyotr Kochetkov is projected to start for Carolina after Brandon Bussi faced Edmonton on Thursday. Joel Hofer is the projected starter for St. Louis following his 27-save performance against Vegas.
Neither starting assignment has been officially confirmed.
