The Philadelphia Flyers (7-5-1) are set to face the Nashville Predators (5-6-4) on Thursday night at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. These teams played about a week ago and the Flyers will hope for a result similar to what we saw in that game. Nashville will look for revenge for that game on their home ice in this matchup. Before the action begins from Nashville, continue reading to find my Flyers vs Predators prediction.
Philadelphia has won three of its last five games and they won their last outing against the Montreal Canadiens. They claimed a 4-1 win in their most recent meeting against Nashville on October 30. That was one of Nashville's four losses over their last five games. The Predators will try to turn around their recent struggles at home in this matchup.
Flyers goaltender Dan Vladar has posted a 5-3-0 record so far this season with a 2.33 GAA and .912 save percentage. Predators starter Juuse Saros is 5-4-3 with a 2.95 GAA and .900 save percentage. Nashville’s defensive metrics have been worse than those of Philadelphia this season. The Preds are giving up 3.4 goals per game and the Flyers have given up 2.69 goals per game.
Flyers forward Trevor Zegras leads the team with 15 points (4 goals, 11 assists) and has been creating chances regularly. Philly has been well-balanced in the offensive zone. No player has more than five goals to their name on the season.
Nashville forward Filip Forsberg leads the team with 11 points (6 goals, 5 assists). Forsberg's six goals are also enough to lead the Preds in that category. He could use some help from his supporting cast for Nashville to turn its season around.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Trevor Zegras (Flyers) | Over 0.5 assists |
Travis Konecny (Flyers) | Anytime goal scorer |
Filip Forsberg (Predators) | Anytime goal scorer |
Score Projection: Philadelphia Flyers 2 – Nashville Predators 3
Win Probability: Philadelphia Flyers 50% | Nashville Predators 50%
I think the Predators are worth taking at home in this matchup. Philly has dropped three of its first four road games this season. And while the Predators are far from an elite team, they should be able to suppress a Philadelphia offense that doesn't have a truly elite goal scorer. I'll go with Nashville to end their two-game losing streak tonight.
