The Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes are set to face off on Sunday in Raleigh as the second game of a home-and-home series. Carolina enters this rematch fresh off a dramatic 4-3 shootout victory over Philadelphia the previous night. Philadelphia picked up a valuable point despite the loss and will be looking to flip the script on the road against a Metropolitan Division rival. Before the puck is dropped in Raleigh, continue reading to get my Flyers vs Hurricanes prediction.

The Hurricanes are riding positive momentum, having won six of their last eight games overall and coming off a shootout win over the Flyers on Saturday. Carolina sits near the top of the Metropolitan Division with a record of 20-9-2 and has been effective at controlling play through shot volume and sustained pressure.
Philadelphia has a respectable 16-9-5 record but has been less consistent lately, splitting its last five games with a 2-1-2 record. Last game showed how the Flyers can hang with Carolina, but the Hurricanes’ depth and consistency have given them the edge against Philly this year.
Goaltending will be a critical factor. The Hurricanes have strong options in net with Brandon Bussi and Pyotr Kochetkov giving Carolina reliable performances this season. Bussi’s presence this year has been stabilizing and he is expected to get the start here. The Flyers’ netminding situation has improved significantly with Dan Vladar’s return to the ice after hip surgery, posting solid numbers with a sub-2.60 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage.
Seth Jarvis leads the charge in scoring for the Canes and is consistently dangerous around the net. Sebastian Aho continues to be impactful as well, and his creative instincts give the Hurricanes a number of ways to open up scoring chances. Philadelphia is led by Trevor Zegras, who has been a catalyst and leads the Flyers in points, goals, and assists. Carl Grundstrom and Bobby Brink scored in the previous game, showing Philadelphia’s role players can have an impact as well.

I'm going to take the over between the Flyers and Panthers from Raleigh. These teams have found ways to score against one another time and time again and that should remain the case here in what will be an exciting game from North Carolina.
