The Ottawa Senators visit Scotiabank Arena in Toronto to face the Maple Leafs on Saturday night in an Atlantic Division battle. Both clubs are jockeying for position in a tight playoff chase with virtually identical records and mixed results over their recent outings. The Senators arrive playing better hockey of late with a 6-3-1 mark in their last 10, while Toronto has stumbled to a 3-6-1 stretch. With key offensive weapons on both sides and goaltending questions lingering, this game could easily hinge on timely scoring and defensive execution.
Pick: Ottawa Senators Moneyline ATS PRO
Confidence: 4 out of 5
The Senators are playing decent hockey at the moment, going 6-3-1 over their last 10 games and picking up wins against quality opponents. They have shown a bit more consistency on offense and appear to be gaining traction as the season approaches March. Conversely, the Maple Leafs have struggled with consistency and are 3-6-1 in their last 10, dropping games by multiple goals and failing to protect leads. This recent divergence gives Ottawa a slight edge in confidence heading into this clash.
Goaltending remains a key question for both sides. Ottawa’s starter Linus Ullmark is listed as day-to-day and may not be fully at 100 percent, although he has shown in the past that he can be a difference-maker in big games with strong saves and calm rebound control. Toronto’s net staff has also been inconsistent, yielding goals at crucial moments and struggling to close out opponents. It looks like Joseph Woll will get the start for the Leafs. How each goalie performs early could define the flow of this contest.
For Ottawa, Tim Stutzle is the team’s driving force with 28 goals and 34 assists, pacing the lineup with playmaking and scoring ability. Drake Batherson and Dylan Cozens have chipped in regularly, giving the Senators multiple forward threats. On the Toronto side, William Nylander and Auston Matthews lead the offensive charge. Matthews consistently produces danger around the net, while Nylander’s puck skills and shot creation lend balance to the Leafs’ attack.
Score Projection: Ottawa Senators 4 – Toronto Maple Leafs 3 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Ottawa Senators 52%, Toronto Maple Leafs 48% ATS PRO
Saturday’s matchup is expected to be a tightly contested affair with both clubs fighting for vital points in a crowded Atlantic Division landscape. Given Ottawa’s recent uptick in form and the Maple Leafs’ inconsistency at home, a bet on the Senators on the moneyline is a sound choice. I'll go with Ottawa in a one-goal game here.
