The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will visit the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football in Week 12 of the NFL season. Both teams are in first place in their respective divisions and will try to get an important win in this possible playoff preview in the NFC. Before kickoff from SoFi Stadium, you can continue reading to find my Buccaneers vs Rams prediction.
Tampa Bay is coming off a high-scoring loss to the Buffalo Bills in which their rushing attack exploded. Sean Tucker carried the load, delivering 106 yards and two rushing scores. He finished the game with 140 scrimmage yards in total. The Bucs' ground game had a season-high 202 rushing yards against Buffalo. That’s important going into this game. If they can lean into that formula again, they can control tempo and at least make this a slugfest.
The Rams have been steady en route to the top of the NFC West this season. They hold an 8–2 record and have built their success on balanced offensive production and a disciplined defense. Matthew Stafford continues to operate efficiently, with reliable weapons like Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams. The Rams are tied for the most red-zone yards when close to scoring, which has helped them finish drives with touchdowns instead of settling for field goals.
This game features two teams that have had success in their respective situations going into this matchup. Tampa Bay is 4-2 on the road so far this season and the Rams are 4-1 on their home turf. But one team will see their hot streak at home or on the road come to an end this weekend.
Baker Mayfield is the Buccaneers’ signal caller. He’s thrown 17 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions this season. His ability to make clutch plays on third down and keep Tampa’s offense moving has been a real difference-maker for the Bucs so far this season.
Matthew Stafford remains the veteran voice at quarterback for the Rams. He’s thrown for over 2,500 yards so far this season. While he’s not the most mobile quarterback, he has 27 touchdown passes to just 2 interceptions this year. He will try to lead his team to another important win in this contest.
My best bet for this matchup is for the under to cash in Inglewood. The Rams have hung their hat on defense this season and they should dig in to get enough stops to keep this one under the total as well. I think the Rams win the game, but the under is a better bet than laying the points with LA.
