The New York Jets will hit the road to face the Buffalo Bills in Week 18 of the NFL season. Buffalo comes into this game having confirmed that they will be a Wild Card team in the AFC playoffs, but their seeding is very much still to be determined in the final week of the regular season. A win here would be huge for Buffalo. I’ll break down whether or not they get that win as I make my Jets vs Bills prediction before this AFC East matchup.

Key Storylines
In Week 17, the Bills lost a heartbreaker by a score of 13-12 to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bills got a late touchdown and could have tied the game with an extra point. But they failed on a game-winning two-point conversion attempt instead and took a loss that secured the AFC East title for the New England Patriots.
The Bills go into Week 18 in a three-way tie for fifth place in the AFC standings. They are behind both the Los Angeles Chargers and Houston Texans on tiebreakers going into this week. But the Bills could finish anywhere from fifth place to seventh place going into the postseason depending on how the games for those three teams go. Buffalo will need to take care of business at home to have any chance of moving up.
Fortunately for Buffalo, they get an opponent with nothing left to play for entering the final week of the season. The Jets have lost three straight games, all of which have come by double-digits. They most recently lost 42-10 to the New England Patriots, giving up five touchdown passes to Drake Maye. If New York can’t show some fight in this game, they could be in for a long day once again.
Quarterback Play
Josh Allen was held in check by the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17. He threw for 262 yards, but failed to throw a touchdown pass and was stopped on the final two-point try of the game. Allen is taking on a much worse defense this week and will try to rebound from that here.
Brady Cook has been playing for the Jets in the place of Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor. Cook hasn’t been playing well, but the Jets don’t have any real desire to win games at this stage of the season, so that works out just fine for them.
