Key Storylines
The Vikings (6-8) have found a measure of late-season success after struggling through the middle portion of their schedule. They most recently earned a 34-26 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in Week 15. They defeated the Washington Commanders in the game before that and will try to earn a third consecutive win over an NFC East opponent by beating the Giants. Despite being eliminated from postseason consideration, Minnesota’s effort to finish strong could pay dividends for bettors who back them.
On the other side, the Giants (2-12) are seeking just a third win this season and are facing an uphill climb after an eight-game losing streak. Both of the Giants’ wins this season have come on their home turf and they will try to take advantage of being at home here. But for that to happen, the Giants have to be better on defense after allowing over 25 points in four straight games.
Quarterback Play
J.J. McCarthy’s 2025 campaign has been a mixed bag, but he has been decent over the last couple of weeks. Turnovers have been a problem for McCarthy, as he enters this week with 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Protecting the football and his body are his biggest challenges on a weekly basis for the Vikings.
Jaxson Dart of the Giants has thrown for over 1,800 yards with 13 touchdowns and 4 interceptions and has been respectable in his rookie campaign. But injuries around Dart and a lack of consistency in all three phases of the game have prevented him from winning many games in his first year as a pro.
