Key Storylines
- Atlanta dominated the last meeting with a decisive win on Tuesday, putting Washington on notice going into their rematch here.
- The Wizards are struggling through a difficult season with a 5-22 road record putting them in a tie for the fewest road wins in the Eastern Conference this year.
- Washington has lost two games in a row coming into this game, both against Southeast Division opponents.
Key Players
Atlanta Hawks
- Jalen Johnson – Leading scorer and facilitator for the Hawks with around 23 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game, giving Atlanta an elite all-around threat that can impact multiple facets on offense. Johnson is listed as questionable going into this game, which is something to monitor going into Thursday night.
- Nickeil Alexander-Walker – Adds over 20 points per game and spacing from long range, helping stretch defenses and keep the Hawks dynamic in transition.
Washington Wizards
- Kyshawn George – George is questionable to compete in this game for the Wizards. If he does play, he will be important to Washington's chances of competing, given that Alex Sarr and Trae Young are both out for the Wizards.
- Bub Carrington – Carrington is another young playmaker whose usage is higher than expected so far this season given all of the injuries and roster moves that the team has had to make over the course of this year.

Final Thoughts
All signs point to the Atlanta Hawks taking care of business at home. Their recent head-to-head performance, stronger offensive metrics, and ability to spread the floor with several shooters all suggest they will cover the spread and assert control right away in this game. I'll lay the points with the Hawks as they should sweep this two-game series with the Wizards this week.
