The Utah Jazz (18‑43) will take on the Washington Wizards (16‑45) on Thursday night in an intriguing matchup between two of the National Basketball Association’s worst teams. Both squads have struggled for consistency throughout the season, yet one of these teams will come out of Thursday night with a win at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. Find out who I think that will be below, as I make my Jazz vs Wizards prediction in the NBA.
Pick: Washington Wizards -2.5 ATS PRO
Confidence: 1 out of 5
Both the Jazz and Wizards sit near the bottom of the league standings, and this game carries implications not just for pride but also potentially for draft positioning. Washington comes in as a slight favorite according to early betting lines, and home court could play a role in shaping the outcome. Trae Young is expected to make his debut for the Wizards, adding a dynamic scoring and playmaking presence to a roster that has largely struggled this season. On the Utah side, they are on the second game of a back-to-back here, following a respectable loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.
Statistic | Utah Jazz | Washington Wizards |
|---|---|---|
Points per game | 117.9 | 112.2 |
Points allowed per game | 125.5 | 123.0 |
Team Field Goal % | 47% | 46% |
Rebounds Per Game | 43.8 | 43.0 |
Assists Per Game | 29.7 | 25.1 |
Score Projection: Utah Jazz 115 – Washington Wizards 121 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Utah Jazz 47%, Washington Wizards 53% ATS PRO
This matchup features two teams with struggles on both ends of the floor. With Washington’s home court advantage, rest edge, and the addition of Trae Young adding scoring capability, I lean toward the Wizards in a close contest. My recommendation is to lay the 2.5 points with the Wizards over a Jazz team playing on tired legs.
