Key Storylines
- As usual, there is an availability watch in Philadelphia. Joel Embiid and Paul George are listed day to day again here, creating significant pricing swings based on the final word pregame. Both are expected to play at this time, but you truly never know when it comes to Embiid and George given their history.
- New York's Jalen Brunson is averaging 27.9 points with 6.1 assists per game, while Tyrese Maxey sits at 30.1 points and 6.8 assists per game. Both draw heavy usage in crunch time and which star plays the best could end up deciding this game.
- Karl-Anthony Towns has delivered double-digit rebounds per game with strong inside-out scoring ability, and Andre Drummond remains a factor on the glass for Philadelphia. Towns is also listed as day to day and that could be significant here.
- New York recently hammered Brooklyn 120-66 after a rough four-game losing streak, while Philadelphia fell 116-110 to Phoenix earlier in the week but previously won 130-119 at New York on January 3.
- The Knicks rank near the top of the league in made threes per game and sit near 38% from deep, a key edge against a defense that can concede looks beyond the arc.
- The Knicks last played on January 21 and the 76ers on January 20, so both sides enter with adequate prep time and minimal travel strain.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends
- Past meetings. Philadelphia has taken the two meetings this season, winning 116-107 at New York in December and 130-119 at New York on January 3.
- Season to date, New York is 22-23 against the spread and 24-21 to the over. Philadelphia is 25-18 against the spread and 23-20 to the over.
- The Knicks are 8-12 straight up away from home and Philadelphia is 12-12 straight up at home this season.
Knicks vs 76ers Model Projection

Win Probability: New York 58%, Philadelphia 42%
Final Thoughts
The focus falls on availability for Philadelphia. If Joel Embiid and Paul George remain limited or sit, New York’s edge in shot creation and volume three-point shooting should carry the day, especially with a favorable shot profile against a defense that has leaked open looks on the perimeter. The Knicks still must handle Tyrese Maxey’s downhill bursts and protect the arc against supporting shooters, but their own lead engine in Jalen Brunson has been steady and Karl-Anthony Towns supplies second-chance scoring and spacing. My projection favors New York by approximately 4, as the Knicks should get a second straight win.
