The New York Knicks head to Atlanta on Monday night in what shapes up as one of the more intriguing late-season Eastern Conference games. With playoff positioning still in play, both teams bring strong form into this contest. New York has reached the 50-win mark and continues to lean on an efficient offense and top-tier defense, while Atlanta has surged up the standings with a high-powered attack after shaking up its roster. Before tip-off from Atlanta, continue reading to get my Knicks vs Hawks prediction in the betting markets.
The Knicks enter this game at 50-28 and are sitting near the top of the Eastern Conference standings. They have been dominant against weaker teams but have struggled recently against winning opponents, particularly on the road. That trend becomes important here, as Atlanta has been one of the hottest teams in the league, winning 8 of its last 10 games.
The Hawks, now 45-33, have quietly turned into one of the most efficient offensive teams in basketball. They rank among the league leaders in scoring and assists, and their ball movement has been a major factor in their late-season surge. Atlanta has also been strong at home, adding another layer of difficulty for a Knicks team that has been less effective away from Madison Square Garden.
Atlanta Hawks
New York Knicks
Stat | Knicks | Hawks |
|---|---|---|
Points per game | 116.9 | 118.6 |
Points allowed per game | 110.4 | 115.9 |
Team Field Goal % | 48% | 47% |
Rebounds per game | 46.0 | 43.4 |
Assists per game | 27.5 | 30.3 |
This game sets up as a tight, back-and-forth contest between two playoff-caliber teams trending in different directions. New York brings the better defense and rebounding edge, but Atlanta counters with elite ball movement and a high-scoring offense that has been clicking at an impressive level. The Hawks also hold a situational edge with their strong home form and recent consistency against quality competition.
While the Knicks have the talent to win this outright, their recent road struggles against strong teams raise concern. Atlanta’s offensive rhythm and depth give them a slight edge in what should be a one-possession game. Taking the Hawks to cover the number offers value, with a home victory being the most likely outcome.
