Key Storylines
- The Knicks are favored heavily in this game and the struggles of the Bucks have been a big reason for that. Milwaukee has lost its last six games, including several on the road. They desperately need a spark if they want any shot to move on in NBA Cup competition.
- The Bucks could get a lift if star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo suits up. He’s currently listed as questionable, raising hopes of a return. But he could possibly be on a minutes restriction. His status for this game could mean a ton for the chances of the Bucks to steal this game on the road.
- Even if Giannis plays, the Bucks are thin elsewhere. Key contributors like Kevin Porter Jr. and Taurean Prince remain sidelined and the Bucks will hope that the return of Giannis will help them overcome those injuries.
- The Knicks’ offense is led by Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns and has looked sharp lately. New York blew out the Charlotte Hornets on the road before Thanksgiving and the Knicks will try to score effectively in this game as well.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends
- The two clubs met earlier this season in Milwaukee, with the Bucks winning that game 121–111.
- The Knicks are 10-7 against the spread going into this contest.
- Milwaukee is 8-11 against the spread going into Friday night.
- The over is 10-7 in games involving the Knicks this year.
- Milwaukee has gone 10-9 to the over through their first 19 games.
Bucks vs Knicks Model Projection

Final Thoughts
All signs point toward the Knicks handling business at home in this game. New York is figuring things out offensively under first-year head coach Mike Brown and the duo of Brunson and Towns should help them to put up more than enough points to win convincingly here. I'll lay the points with the Knicks, as they should win and try to run up the score to try and catch the Heat in the standings at the top of their NBA Cup group.
