The Milwaukee Bucks travel to Los Angeles on Friday to take on the Lakers in an inter-conference game that is big for both teams. The Lakers are currently one of the more consistent teams in the Western Conference with a strong home record, while Milwaukee is under .500 and out of the top 10 in the East. Here, I break down this matchup between them on the court and give you my Bucks vs Lakers prediction in the NBA.

The Lakers enter this contest with a solid 23-12 record and have been particularly strong at home with a 10-6 mark at Crypto.com Arena. Their offense remains potent, averaging around 116.3 points per game, and their defensive numbers place them in the upper half of the league in terms of limiting scoring. However, Los Angeles has been inconsistent lately, posting a 5-5 record over their last 10 outings. The Lakers also arrive off a disappointing loss to the Spurs, where they struggled offensively and shot poorly from the perimeter. LeBron James is listed as day-to-day, and other contributors such as Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura remain sidelined, though Hachimura could make his return tonight.
The Bucks come in at 16-21 and are 7-12 on the road this season. Milwaukee also has a 5-5 record in their last 10 games. Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to perform at an elite level, as evidenced by a 34-point outing in their most recent loss to Golden State and a 37-point performance in a win over Sacramento. However, Milwaukee’s supporting cast has been inconsistent, with some contributors underperforming and the team suffering from defensive lapses at critical moments. The Bucks’ offensive output of 113.3 points per game puts additional pressure on their defense in what could to be a high-scoring encounter in LA.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Giannis Antetokounmpo | Under 31.5 Points |
Luka Dončić | Over 34.5 Points |
Score Projection: Milwaukee 114 – Los Angeles 121
Win Probability: Milwaukee 42%, Los Angeles 58%
The Lakers should be able to win and cover the spread as a favorite in this contest against the Bucks. Both Doncic and Antetokounmpo will get theirs on the stat sheet in this game. But the Lakers are a little bit deeper right now, and playing at home should solidify the upper hand for them in this contest in Southern California.
