The Miami Heat head to Houston on Saturday night looking to stabilize things after a rough defensive showing in recent games, while the Houston Rockets return home for the second game of a back-to-back. With both teams looking to improve their playoff positioning, the stakes are high going into this contest. Before the action begins, you will find my Heat vs Rockets prediction below.
Miami enters this game after allowing 134 points in a recent loss to the Lakers, highlighting ongoing defensive concerns despite a roster built around physical interior play. The Heat remain in the middle of the Eastern Conference standings, but they have lost three games in a row and have allowed 135 points per game over their last two games, which is alarming.
Houston continues to surge in the West with a 42-27 record. The Rockets recently snapped a brief skid with a convincing 117-95 win over Atlanta, showcasing improved shooting efficiency around Kevin Durant. Their offense has become more fluid, and their frontcourt continues to create mismatches.
Houston Rockets
Miami Heat
Category | Miami Heat | Houston Rockets |
|---|---|---|
Points per game | 120.3 | 113.8 |
Points allowed per game | 117.1 | 109.8 |
Team Field Goal % | 46% | 47% |
Rebounds per game | 46.9 | 48.0 |
Assists per game | 28.6 | 24.7 |
Houston holds clear advantages in efficiency, rebounding, and home performance. Their ability to generate high-percentage shots, combined with Miami’s recent defensive struggles, points toward a favorable setup for the Rockets. Kevin Durant’s scoring consistency and Sengun’s versatility should create matchup problems for a Miami team that has been inconsistent in protecting the paint, even with the Rockets playing for the second straight night. I'll lay the points with Houston in this one.
