The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics will collide on Friday night in a key Eastern Conference basketball game from TD Garden in Boston. Miami is coming in off a hard-fought victory that halted a five-game losing streak, while the Celtics enter as one of the more consistent teams in the East despite a couple of recent defeats. Here, I look at the injury reports and info that you need to know before I make my Heat vs Celtics prediction in the NBA.

Both teams come into this game in need of a win heading into the weekend. The Heat broke a five-game losing streak with a 106-95 win over the Brooklyn Nets, led by Norman Powell’s 24 points and Bam Adebayo’s double-double. Miami’s scoring has been inconsistent, and injuries to key rotation pieces like Tyler Herro and Nikola Jovic remain concerns. The Heat will try to overcome those issues to get a win in this matchup.
Boston has dropped two games in a row coming into this contest, falling to the Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks in their last two outings. They could be without Sam Hauser and Josh Minott for this game, both listed as probable and dealing with minor injuries. Jayson Tatum remains out with a significant Achilles injury, leaving the Celtics to rely more heavily on Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and their role players to pick up the slack offensively.
The Celtics enter this game in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings, while Miami sits in seventh place. But these teams are separated by just a half-game in the standings, meaning the winner of this game could move into the top four in the Eastern Conference by the end of the night. That makes this a huge matchup between two teams with championship aspirations year in and year out.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Jaylen Brown | Over 29.5 Points |
Bam Adebayo | Over 8.5 Rebounds |
Norman Powell | Under 22.5 Points |
Score Projection: Miami Heat 112 – Boston Celtics 121
Win Probability: Miami Heat 30%, Boston Celtics 70%
Boston’s depth and consistency give them the edge in this contest, especially with some of Miami’s key contributors battling injuries or day-to-day designations. The Heat are 5-8 on the road this season, while the Celtics are 8-5 on their home floor. I'll lay the points with Boston in this game, as they should be able to beat the Heat and end their two-game losing streak.
