The Houston Rockets hit the road with a challenging visit to Denver on Wednesday night, facing a Nuggets team that remains one of the toughest opponents at altitude. Houston enters the game riding positive momentum after a 113-99 victory against Toronto, a performance highlighted by strong rebounding and efficient scoring. Denver, meanwhile, will try to avoid a third straight loss and bounce back from a heartbreaking loss in their last outing by winning this Rockets vs Nuggets matchup.
Pick: Denver Nuggets -5.5 ATS PRO
Confidence: 3 out of 5
One major storyline entering the game is Houston playing on short rest after its win over Toronto. The Rockets leaned heavily on their starters in that game, and traveling to Denver less than 24 hours later introduces fatigue concerns. Playing at elevation has long been a factor in Denver’s home success, especially against teams finishing a road back-to-back.
Another point of interest is the offensive ceiling of both teams. Each side ranks among the league’s most productive scoring units this season. Houston relies on a blend of veteran scoring and emerging young talent, while Denver’s offense remains one of the most efficient in basketball thanks to its ball movement and elite playmaking from the center position.
The last time we saw the Nuggets, they lost a three-point game to the Oklahoma City Thunder, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander burying them with back-to-back threes in the final minute despite a four-point play from the Nuggets on their penultimate possession. It will be interesting to see how the Nuggets bounce back in this contest.
This game is also huge in the Western Conference standings. Third place through seventh place in the West standings are separated by 2.5 games total. The Rockets are in third place entering Wednesday night, while the Nuggets are in sixth. Both teams need wins to avoid being in jeopardy of having to take part in the play-in tournament, and this contest is a great litmus test for both clubs.

Score Projection: Houston Rockets 112 – Denver Nuggets 119 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Houston Rockets 37%, Denver Nuggets 63% ATS PRO
This game features two high-scoring teams, but situational factors point in Denver’s direction. Houston enters the contest on short rest after an intense performance the night before, while Denver benefits from home court and one of the league’s most efficient offenses. If Jokic controls the offense and Denver maintains its ball movement advantage, the Nuggets should generate enough clean scoring opportunities to build a second-half lead and cover the number as a home favorite.
