Golden State Warriors vs Washington Wizards Prediction: Which Struggling Team Wins On Monday?
The Golden State Warriors continue their road trip Monday night with a visit to Washington to face the Wizards. Both teams arrive with very different goals as the regular season moves deeper into March. Golden State remains in the crowded Western Conference play-in race and needs wins to steady its position. Washington, meanwhile, has endured a difficult season and sits near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Before tip-off from Washington, continue reading to find my Warriors vs Wizards prediction below.
Golden State enters the game with a 32-35 record and remains firmly in the play-in discussion in the Western Conference. The Warriors have struggled with consistency recently, partly due to injuries that have sidelined several important players. Stephen Curry, the club’s leading scorer at 27.2 points per game, is dealing with a knee issue and has missed multiple games. His absence has forced younger players into larger roles, particularly Brandin Podziemski and several bench contributors.
The Wizards have endured a difficult campaign with a 16-50 record. Washington’s defense has been a major concern, allowing 123.7 points per game, one of the highest marks in the league. Despite the losses, the team continues to develop young talent such as Alex Sarr and Bub Carrington, both of whom have become important pieces in the franchise’s rebuilding process.
Washington Wizards
Golden State Warriors
Stat | Warriors | Wizards |
|---|---|---|
Points per game | 115.1 | 112.7 |
Points allowed per game | 114.4 | 123.7 |
Team Field Goal % | 46% | 46% |
Rebounds Per Game | 42.9 | 42.9 |
Assists Per Game | 29.1 | 25.1 |
Golden State has dealt with roster issues recently, yet the overall talent gap between these teams remains significant. The Warriors produce strong ball movement and rank among the league leaders in assists, which should create open shots against a Washington defense that allows over 123 points per game. Even without a full lineup, Golden State’s depth and perimeter shooting provide an edge.
I'm going to take the points with Washington here, thanks to all of the injuries the Warriors are dealing with. But I don't feel exceedingly confident about it, as the Warriors should still win the game regardless of the margin.
