Game Snapshot
- Matchup: Detroit Pistons @ Boston Celtics
- Date & Time: Wednesday, November 26, 2025, 5:00 p.m. ET
- Venue: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts
- Broadcast: ESPN
Key Storylines
- Detroit’s surge: The Pistons are 15–2 this season and just tied a franchise record with 13 straight wins after toppling the Indiana Pacers 122–117. Their offense has looked sharp, with strong contributions from their core players like Cade Cunningham and an uptick in efficiency from behind the arc.
- Celtics dealing with injury woes: The Celtics have ruled out starting center Neemias Queta for this game because of an ankle sprain. His absence could hurt Boston’s rim protection and interior defense, potentially opening lanes for Detroit’s bigs. Boston will likely lean more on backups such as Luka Garza and Xavier Tillman to absorb minutes in the frontcourt. Jayson Tatum is also out with an Achilles injury.
- NBA Cup implications: This is an important group stage game in NBA Cup play in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons are 2-0 in cup play and could move into a tie with the Orlando Magic atop their group with a win here. Boston is 1-2 in cup play and needs to win to have any hopes of advancing, with point differential being important to both teams as well.
- Momentum vs. home-court advantage: Detroit enters with tremendous confidence and cohesion, while Boston is trying to continue building in the right direction.

Final Thoughts
Detroit is playing incredible basketball so far this season. But I think that the Celtics will get the win in this NBA Cup contest. This is the fourth straight road game for the Pistons and this is the toughest place they have had to play during that stretch. I'll take the Celtics as a slight underdog in what should be a highly entertaining game from TD Garden.
